If a club like Inter can't pursue a player stop moving to Dagestan - fucking DAGESTAN for the money, then I guess Serie A's slide is complete. With no superowners anymore and Paris looming to take all starlets (Pastore) away, then Serie A could very well lose the 4th place in the ranking too soon. Depressing.

We already had a discussion about this issue. Some of you were quite dismissive about question. You know, players will go everywhere, even on Mars, if there could earn more money than in the club where are they, at the moment. We shouldn`t blame them, entire human race is that. No love for club, only a show. Something hard to accept is that Russian football is in great expansion, and this is start. Calcio, is still, unfortunately, on demise. I hope not for long.
Speaking for me, I would happy as little child if could be a bench player for Lazio. Forever, not going to some City or Anzhi.

I dont think it says anything of the league. Eto is 30, and gets an opportunity to earn a horrendous amount of money for the 4 or 5 years at most he has left, simple as that.

for me Eto'o is the best stirker in the world, but when Moratti refused to extend his contract, I knew this is going to happen. Eto'o is 30 and Wants to assure his last contract. also I think he realized that Inter is Not good enough to compete as he wanted.

serie A doesn't have Money anymore, thats why the top players are leaving.

Inter is on the decline but teams like Juve, Milan and Napoli are on the rise. You can even add that us and Merda are getting stronger as well.
Inter are in transition right now, selling Eto'o and maybe Sneijder and replacing them with younger players. Luc Caistegnon is one of the best talents in the world and Inter snapped him up. Ricky Alvarez looks good as well. Ranocchia instead of an old Samuel, I like what Inter is doing. Getting in younger, hungrier players.

If Inter sell both Sneijder and Eto'o and don't bring anyone in then they as a club need their head examined, and they'll be lucky to get top three next season. If they sell just Eto'o then front up the money for Tevez, then it's a different story.

Eto'o is world class though and it would be a loss either way. If Inter really need money then they should sell the 'm's Maicon, Mariga Muntari and Milito.

Other clubs are on the rise though as Laziogimp says, so its not all bad.

To me this says more about Eto'o than it does about Serie A or Inter. If a player of his calibre decides to effectively retire from competitive top flight football to play for, with all respect, a glorified beer league, well then it's really just a matter of money isn't it. I saw part of the Azzurri match against Spain yesterday - probably the best I've seen an Azzurri team play since Baggio left. That's more important to Italian football than what Inter does.

BTW, and may I add...15 million fucking Euros a Year!!!!!!!!! There isn't a (legitimate) team in Europe that would, could or should pay him tht much. It's so stupid as to lead me to question the judgemnent and ecen the sanity of the people who run the team. This has nothing to do with Serie A, this is about sheer dollars.

Indeed, Prandelli has turned around Italy's fortunes bringing through young talent. It's good to see Juve and even Inter in some respects include Italian talent in their squads.

Reports suggest 40 million will be the fee for Eto'o who is 30 after all and only has 2-3 seasons at the very top left. Lots were saying it was madness when Inter sold Ibrahimovic as well but look how that turned out. They key to whether they are on the slump is what they do with those funds.
