Today were the WC qualifiers. Some interesting games. Some observations:

Macedonia lost to Netherlands, Pandev Scored. FORZA PANDEV!

England Currently winning 4 - 1 to croatia who stopped them from qualifying from the Euros.

Italy currently up 2-0. FORZA ITALIA!

I noticed Radu is never fielded for Romania but Moti is .. I guess Moti wouldve been a good pickup.

France up 2-1 against Serbia. I was rooting for Serbia. Hopefully Kolarov will make the team eventually.

Italy's games are dreadful o watch - completely boring. Sorry, but it's true (and yes I'm Italian).

I disagree. I think Italian soccer has changed from the defensive game they used to play minus teh donadummy era. All the past games under Lippi were exciting usually having more shots on net than most teams and scoring brilliant goals. Watch the friendly against germany in 2008. I've never seen a team gel so well together. Things are different now, since most of these players are reaching their peak and in 2 years I doubt they'll have the same flare. They aren't the fanciness of south american teams .. but then again they aren't trying to put on show but win but you can see the technical brilliance of these players.

I think watching england play is more painful than anything. By far most over-rated team. No creativeness, which is why most of their league has foreign midfielders. I can't remember the last time they kept a consistent track record to say they were a contending team. I'd say croatia has done more since 1998 then they have.

Even though i'm not a fan, portugal is an exciting team to watch. They do have that south american way of playing however the fanciness sometimes gets the best of them (see C. Ronaldo).

I wonder who the dark horses of qualifying will be this time. Could Pandev lead Macedonia to the World Cup ?

Yes he can. I was on the match with Netherlander. First half  Macedonia impress and if u see the match u wont believe it's playing against Netherlands, we attack and Pandev even scored but the goal was disallowed by the refery for offside. In the second half they scored a early goal and that was demoralizing for our side. It took a lot to fight back and then the second goal came. In the last 20 min. Macedonia was constantly attacking ( Pandev could score two or three times) and then we got a penalty witch Pandev scored with no trouble. At the end we have a few more chances and the overall impression was that we deserved one point but thats football. Pandev played hell of a match and we can be sorry he didn't score more, but he is showing that he is in great form and will kick golkeeper asses this year.

The last two games have been just awful to watch. And Donadoni was not the one who brought Italy into a defensive mindset, it goes back 90 years!!!

Canada is falling behind, which makes me a little sad - I would love to see us on the international scale, even if we do not do too well. I wish there was better televised coverage of the games - I hate following highlights.

Yeah I thought Canada would have been able to qualify this time after watching the friendly against brazil a while back. We played well that game. I think it will be a long time before we see Canada in the WC. Soccer is growing though with toronto entering the mls and vancouver and montreal soon to follow.

I pray Scotland can do something soon. The glorious failure thing gets very old very quickly. And i hope our Macedonian friends can take points from Iceland and Norway while graciously losing in Glasgow

I think it's way too early to judge any team. We haven't made it past the first round robin and people are already getting scared their teams might not qualify. It's been 3 or 4 games out of 10 ... anything can still happen.

Yeah but now everyone's had a chance to gauge the team in a very general way you start to think about where you're going to pick up points. In the case of Scotland we don't even start until the 2nd half and that isn't allowed at this level. We probably have to win every game now. In Italy's case they aren't playing particularly well but are still winning, it's hard to see who'll stop Italy.

Well mate we fu*k up against Iceland so we all hope from the points in Scotland.
P.s. Here in Macedonia lots of Scottish fans arrived and I can surely say that they was the best fans I've ever meet. All about football, nonviolence at all and very cheerful.

Cheers

Yeah if only Scotland had true ultras and a better standard of league it might be more popular.

Thanks for the compliment Macedonia was brilliantly sunny and beautiful and I'm sure the passionate and fantastic Macedonian fans will be made welcome in freezing, grey Scotland for the return!

  cheers!

ps. if you want any info on Glasgow (the stadium etc) i will do my best to provide.
