Firstly, you can tell that Messi is team player. For the first half he was playing the role of Terq and giving balls to Pedro, Xavi, Alves.... Where as R. stole every god damn ball from his teammates and ruin every chance. Real play for Ronaldo, in Barca situation is different. And if you couldn't tell the difference between this two on this game, then your impossible.

as a fan of real madrid i have to say that la liga is decided. barcelona didnt play well yerterday, but they win. we are only praying cristiano ronaldo make some miracle with the ball, and he cant play alone. pellegrini doesnt know how to read a match, and we play all in the middle. I hope that mourinho comes to madrid, cause we need to keep a style, mourinho style isnt beautilfull, but is effective. For you to call Messi incomplete is ludicrous - Ronaldo is the incomplete one! Messi does not get my sympathy because he is a short guy. You play the cards God deals you. C Ronaldo is stronger in the air and I don't care if its not Messi's fault he's short. Its just a fact C Ronaldo is stronger in the air.

C Ronaldo does pass in front of goal and swings in very dangerous crosses so I dont think he is exactly selfish on the field. Messi winning all the awards and scoring many goals for a Barcelona team who gets provided nonstop perfect service from Iniesta and Xavi and co. are major reasons why people are on the Messi side. The problem with direct comparisons is you need to remove all extraneus factors to examine the players pure unassisted skill.  Ronaldo can definitley blast the ball from anywhere but needs space, what Messi can do is more unique, the 4 goal game demonstrated that. 
Goal 1 was a great demonstartion of this, almost no space and a fast and accurate shot. 
Goal 2 he set the play up and got back into position for the cross. 
Goal 3 what would ronaldo have done maybe blast it, the keeper was stuck, the chip shot showed how many useable options he has. 
Goal 4 dribbling and patience.     

For ronaldo's height he falls to ground much more than messi, and to be good at header's naturally someone has to send in a half decent cross.  You can't discount that it is a close comparison but in unique ability Messi wins, Players like this don't come around often.  Ronaldo has attributes found in many other players but just all in one.  I have been lucky to catch the last few hatrick games including the 4 goal Arsenal blitz.  Each goal is highlight real material, Xavi can be a factor but he is not the one running past 2-3 players inside the box either tunring on a dime and firing top corner either.
