Lotito is looking seriously at purchasing Salernitana which after losing the playoffs to Verona, has not registered to play in the Lega pro. Some of you may have heard that Lotito has already arranged  a deal with Maltese club Floriana for youth developement - but this is a somewhat significant Italian squad and there is some notion that he wishes to create a satelite or farm team for Lazio. Boh?

Like one does at FM, right

Send Ceccarelli and some other talents (Barreto?) there and see what they can do, hopefully play Salernitana up to Serie B, where they could be a massive help

Looks like it's done, Salernitana belongs to Lotito and co. Could be a great move in terms of developing talent. Forza Salernitana!

I thought a president couldn't own two teams? or will Lotito have their president on strings like a puppet.

Wasn't so long ago that Salernitana were in Serie A, now they are a 'farm' side.

Potentially an interesting move especially if they can make it up to Serie B where the quality of football will be better for some of our talents to indulge in.

In the same league I believe it was? Gaucci, Sensi and Preziosi have all done this before.

I think have a feeder team for any big team is a great help. Especially when they have young players that aren't really getting time on the pitch against decent opposition. Can only help Lazio in the long term.

Always seems to help out in FM lol

But I suppose thats only a game, not real life (Or is it !!! lol)

Not to mention, a farm team allows you to develop coaches and other club administrators - particularly if the team manages to play in Serie B.

Personally I dont like this idea. I dont want Lotito to be putting his money in Salerno than Lazio i.e building a new stadium for them and investing from scratch to build this team they talk of.

Every club needs a farm team to develop players unless they have so called academy's like Torino used to have, and Napoli used to have, I spent some time in Italy back in early 90's and played for Modena's primavera U21 team, I was Then loaned out Lodigani (which is now Cisco Roma)  I never made it as a player but it was a good experience to get some sort of first team football.

Lotito will send Ianarilli, Di Mario, Sciamanna, Pantano, Spirito, Campoli, Capua and Coppola from Formello to form the core of a new Salernitana farm team. This is a very good idea.
