Where to begin. Let the quoting with possible bashing commence.

PS: Nice pic Jofo, we look similar
Do you use sunbeds?^^

You want to homo-erotic  To be honest I'm not interested in guys who style themselves on John Travolta. Doesn't float my boat, glad it does for you!
But if your an Argentina fan like myself (which I knew you were anyway) then that's perfect. We can spazz together

I will be cheering Holland, but I truly think that it will be taken by either Germany or Argentina.

Germany have a useless squad. They might not make it out the group even. Argentina I'll be praying for, but can't see it, Spain and Brazil too good.

I would have to say England is a possibility.

Nope! They are shit.

Quote
Anyway, I'm still cheering Slovenija!!!!!

Surprised they left Zanetti & Cambiaso off the team with the year that they are having.

They have a manager who ommited Cambiasso and Zanetti from a 30 man shortlist,

Zanetti is a shame but Cambiasso is no loss. Honest. Before Maradona came in he was one of the worst players under Basile and I fully support Maradona ignoring him. He was involved in the friendly against Spain for a bit, but, as with Dunga and Ronaldinho, and Lippi with just about any decent player there is, they are ignored, thinking it best to keep to more tried and tested players.

.COME ON ENGLAND.i believe england would do well in this world cup and reach the semifinals but i don't think they can win it. I hope i'll be proved wrong

Its funny how everyone thinks Argentina is going to win. Who the fuck is going to save their ass in the back.. Carrizo?

Nope. Sergio Romero from AZ. Very much in the mould of Carlos Roa i.e Erratic but capable of stunning saves. A classic Argentinian type keeper. Love it.

As for me... WC memories was a ARG follower since 98. Obviously the link to Argentina with Lazio was always there but clearly as soon as they knocked out England, I had experienced by first WC English heartache and.... bloody loved it. Then of course I just learnt how much England hates Argentina and I loved them ever more/since.

Brazil (most definitely not average, WTF?) and Spain are a step above everybody else. I'm actually not as pumped for the WC because, whereas it won't the the capitalist bullshit-fest with no identity like Germany 06, this time around I have problems with all the joke teams/rosters;

-The best team in Africa didn't make it, Egypt
-England have an easy route until towards the end which is never a pleasurable experience.
- Holland are limited, Germany flat out suck as do France, Portugal are a one man team
- New Zealand...  But then again would Bahrain have been any better?
- Honduras *facepalm* but then again, would El Salvador be any better?

Finally for now thanks to TIK for starting the thread, easy on the eye.

(unlike his face)

Final Argentina squad! (For me and the Baldinger?  )

Argentina squad
Goalkeepers: Romero (AZ Alkmaar), Andujar (Catania), Pozo (Colon)

Defenders: Otamendi (Velez), Heinze (Marseille), Demichelis (Bayern Munich), Samuel (Inter), Garcè (Colon), Burdisso (Roma), Rodriguez (Estudiantes)

Midfielders: Veron (Estudiantes), Mascherano (Liverpool), J Gutierrez (Newcastle), Di Maria (Benfica), Maxi Rodriguez (Liverpool), Pastore (Palermo), Bolatti (Fiorentina)

Forwards: Messi (Barcelona), Higuain (Real Madrid), Tevez (Manchester City), Milito (Inter), Aguero (Atletico Madrid), Palermo (Boca Juniors)

Overall I'm satisfied. Starting formation should be like this; 4-4-2;

Romero, Samuel, Demichelis, Heinze, Otamendi <3; Di Maria, Mascherano, Veron, Gutierrez; Messi, Higuain.

I prefer 4-3-3 for ARG so I'm hoping that that system can be perfected in the training camp like it is rumoured.
It is a shame about Zanetti but he was never really included in the squads before so it would have been a pick based on nostalgia, which is never a good way to go, right Lippi?
Palermo is scoffable because he is useless and missed a hat-trick of pens, but here's a good lump of shit to chuck on if things get desperate. I'm delighted Milito and in particular young Pastore have got in, both deserved it.

Sorry to bore any non-ARG fans.

Where's Zarate?

(joke)

For me this is the World Cup Winner squad, Forza Argentina!

I'd put Zanetti to this list, Demichelis isn't that good and Bolatti sucks at Fiorentina right?
Martin Palermo? He's too old...

Yeah but Palermo won't get playing time. As I say, he will be a perfect lump of shit to come on and try and change the game with a physical presence, if they need some change from Plan A.

Think about it this way... Argentine target man, Palermo or Cruz? PALERMO!

Zanetti was always going to be a contentious one but I support Diego's decision. Imagine if Lippi out of the blue, without any prior reason, called up.... I dunno... Siviglia! Everyone would be like... wtf! Not only because he's shit but also because he had not been called up all year and longer. For whatever reason, Diego never fancied Zanetti since he took over. Managers having their favourites is normal, and sometimes it's for the best, and sometimes not.

As for Veron, he and Cambiasso are different players. The plan is for Veron to ping 'that' piss to the forwards and let Messi and Higuain do the rest, supported by Di Maria espeically. Cambiasso tends to be great but he also runs a lot, ruining the shape of the team.
Besides, Cambiasso sucked so bad, and if you suck in a team that results in a manager Basile getting sacked, in some instances, despite class being permenant, it can be very difficult to get back into a team.

I will be suppoting th US (lots of my friends are American) .. also Algeria and Slovenia

I hope the African teams do well, they all have the capacity but are a bit hit and miss. Some of my earliest world cup memories are off African countries playing like Brazil or somethin.. all attacking all the time- quality!!

Argentina look promising. They have all it takes to reach the final but i would add Lavezzi to that list instead of Palermo. Btw it will be a joy to watch Veron with the skyblue shirt.

I am also supporting Argentina but I dont trust Maradona and Messi's national team performance. Maybe, after a great season he left behind, this time he can lead this team. He is absolutely the best player on the earth unquestioned, 100 times better than cristiano ronaldo. However, even if he was the key player of Barça in what the club have succeded so far, I couldnt see his magic in NT. I hope this time, he makes Argentina worth to watch.

France, they have really quality squad but I cant understand how shit they are, and how they can stand Domanech. I have heard the survey in France which is examining whether French think that they can go further than group or not, and only %27 of the participants think that they can do it. I hope they can make a good degree.

The other team I am expecting them to make a good spot is Serbia. It wont be surprise for me if they finish the tournemount in a good place.

Very good site with a lot of informations for the WC and probablly the only one full with info`s about every player from every wc 2010 nation.       http://soccernet.espn.go.com/

go on world cup, press any country and check the scores&schedule with info`s for every friendly or qualification game http://soccernet.espn.go.com/match?id=270144&league=FIFA.FRIENDLY&cc=5901 and than go on squad and see the stats, strenghts, weaknesses, career high/low,style,quotes,trivia for every player. Combine that with http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/suedkorea/kader/nationalmannschaft_3589.html for transfer value,stats... Enjoy
