The annual award for most amusing banner in Serie A has gone to a Torino supporter during their relegation. “At least I’m drunk.”
The Sandro Ciotti award goes to the fan with the wittiest banner in the stadium and among the jury were FIGC President Giancarlo Abete and CONI President Gianni Petrucci.

‘At least I’m drunk’ was the message that 22-year-old Eleonora Ingrassia carried around the arenas of Italy when watching her beloved Torino plunge into Serie B.

Runner-up went to a Milan fan who was making fun of President Silvio Berlusconi’s relationship with teenage model Noemi, who revealed she referred to him as ‘Papi’ and had received lavish gifts.

The banner during the transfer window read: ‘Papi, buy me Adebayor. Signed Noemi.’ The ruse didn’t work and the striker went to Manchester City instead.

Roma have been protesting against President Rosella Sensi and her refusal to sell up the club to new investors. Her name, Rosella, is the Italian version of Scarlett.

‘If there really is an offer, make like Scarlett O’Hara – be gone with the wind!’ earned third place.

Jose Mourinho was a popular subject in the stands this year and fourth went to the statement: ‘Mourinho learned Italian just so he could talk c**p.’

Another top 10 entry referred to Antonio Cassano’s autobiography, in which he claimed to have slept with over 700 women.

‘700 women for Cassano, but his brain is virginal and untouched'

Not Serie A, but this is hands down the greatest banner ever made by any Football fans:

Lithuanian fans were fined C15,000 (Swiss Francs) for this display. Worth EVERY penny.

When was that?
And wasn't it in a derby?

First derby of 2001 I think. If I recall correctly, the same game there was a banner that said "Roma: Black Team, Jewish Fans".

I think the ultras instigated a dozen fines that season

Hoo! Not quite the wittiest banner I have ever seen but on a very base level it appeals to me. By the same token it suits the occasion as well. Brutal and bold enough to make the enemy cringe and whimper.

Winner. Outwitted!
