Can't believe Italy drew Ireland. I couldn't watch the game but my Irish friend told me Italy dominated the match even with 10 men and apparently pazzini was sent off for no reason. Still happy with a draw and I'm confident they'll still go through.

Looks like france revived their campaign and I KNOW .. wow bolivia beating argentina 4-1 ... this will be an interesting WC. Usual countries like Czech Republic and Portugal look like they're having a tough time. This might be one of the world cups with another slew of under dogs.

I think anyone who's lost hope needs to remember that this is only the first round and that just like Serie A .. a few good games changes EVERYTHING!

Wow .. watch these highlights:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6PhMV1WR30" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6PhMV1WR30</a>

Looks like argentina was asleep .. and really their defense was non-existent so really much blame can't be put on Carizzo.

It definitely was not his fault, but Carizzo really does look sluggish and slow, what is wrong with him?

But that was pretty funny Bolivia must be in disbelief.

Carrizo has always been sluggish and slow.. remember his 'no reaction' to Lecce's goal at the Olimpico?

.. but hang on, what am I saying. He's very quick at coming out and conceding penalties for us.

God I hate that guy. Complete shit.

I cant believe Argentina was humiliated by Bolivia, wow, really historic match. I have watched highlight and I can say that Argentina was nothing, they didnt deserve to win. It seems 2nd and 6th goals were Carizzo's fault.

I'm in Buenos Aires tonight with Argentina v Peru. Anybody else watching? Finally, finally, Gonzalo Higuain is playing for them, he a top player who deserves a lot better then playing second fiddle to Tevez in the NT and bloody RVN at Madrid.

Time to see if Maradona can salvage anything from this mess. It would be an utter travesty if Argentina were not at 2010, but I always though he was a poor managerial choice to begin with, and he has done little to change my thoughts in that regard. Shame, because they have the quality to go all the way.

They'll get there one way or another. I believe if they finish in 5th place, they face a play-off with a team from the North American section... which over two legs should be easy enough. But I reckon they'll squeak automatic, somehow. The thing that bothers me about Maradona is that he seems to be obsessed with giving important caps to old guys, because they deserve it, in his eyes. There's no room for heart in International football, particularly for important qualifiers. Even if it's only Peru, there's a marked improvement in what I'm seeing at the moment, in midfield especially.

Yeah thats correct, 5th place playoff. He has capped a lot of players, but I wonder if thats because he really doesnt know what to do, and who to play. They should win this one, and I also still think they may slip into 4th, but will Maradona forfill the potential that this team has? I don't know. Likely, as like the great man himself, Argentina's ultmate campaign in 2010, assuming they make it, will end either in total disaster or absolute brilliance. Should be entertaining to follow.

I really ain't convinced with the players he picks from Argentina, Argentinian league football is of a pretty poor standard all in all.
Believe or not, but Palermo, fair enough, because he is a target man and he is more mobile then Cruz. But I don't see much in Perez, and that Sciavi at the back, looks useless. Mascherano is yet again piss poor, my god why do they presevere with him. For sure I can't wait for the game in Montevideo on Wednesday night, should be an absolute cracker

If by the slightest chance Argentina don't make it, I can accept a WC without a big name, but Paraguay cruising through another campaign really pisses me off. Every time they get through to a WC they do bugger all, except for Chilavert way back when. Pointless team with loads of boring players. Your right, WC needs Argentina.

What do we want? a summer of great, big game, entertaining football. Wouldnt be right without them would it? On a seperate note, great to see them back at the Rivers Monumental stadium.
