Ultimately, we have to play every team twice and every side will have tough spells. But three of the first four games are very tough. We only took one point from the coresponding fixtures against Samp, Fiorentina and Milan last season. However, a good start against very decent opposition could galvanise the squad early on in the season. Then again, we've started well in the past....

^^ L365 is right, ultimately, you gotta play everyone twice and we've seen how starting well against weak teams proves little. and there's so many factors (i.e. building confidence, who is better prepared for the start of the campaign etc.). If we manage to get Hernanes and another couple of decent signings along with Bresciano and Garrido, it may very well be other teams  who don't want to play against us in the first weeks of the season. Who knows?

It's easy for me.

They'll be good days, bad days and indifferent days. We'll get unexpected results, do unexpected performances both good and bad. We have been shite in the league for 3 seasons now and I have to try and keep grounded about it - even if Hernanes comes that doesn't automatically put us back into Europe because Fiorentina are extremely strong with only the league to focus on, Palermo and Rube will be back, Genoa are the strongest they have ever been since the days when they beat the fucking scousers in continental competition.

I agree with Imper (and I'm counting the days until I stop doing that i.e blaming referees and luck for Lazio inefficiencies) that, to really really put ourselves as strong contenders we need a couple more marquee signings, including one at CB, I do not think we are completely safe there, I really don't.

For those in the Greater Toronto Area, TheScore will be showing Serie A games. The tv schedule for the first week of games should be finalized next week on their site. I am not sure if TLN is showing the games anymore, they don't show anything on their website and still have world cup articles in their soccer section.
