As of the Milan game at Olimpico, Lazio home games will begin with a real live eagle circling the skies above the pitch. It's a small thing perhaps, but given the significance of the Eagle to the team, the city and to the history of Rome, I love this idea. Vola un aquila ner' cielo!!!!!

p.s. Apparently augurs will be on hand, if the eagle craps in Totti's mouth it's considered a sign of good luck!

Its Benfica. Portugal team with an eagle on their logo. They have been doing this for longer time and I think we are somehow stealing their idea.
Lazio to copy Benfica. Mah!! We need an original and unique idea. We are Lazio FFS.

Btw this is nothing more then Lotito measurement to get the crowd on the stadium.

Heh could well be... when you put it like that it's an embarassing idea really, even more then when Hernanes scored a penalty and Lotito stood up expressing, 'YES, I signed him, what a player.'

Oh well, hopefully the Bet365 streaming and others can pick it up on camera.

^^^ and Napoli used to cart around a donkey in the old days - who cares, it's a great idea anyway.

so it has been done, lets do one better than.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy9UlIwMHb4" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy9UlIwMHb4</a>

would be great for the derby games. we would have to let a wolf loss at the Olympico, dont think Lega Calcio would let that fly. still one can dream.

I don't dislike the idea, and if it gets people back into the stadium then all the better. Can't see it making much of a difference on that front however, although there will likely be more fans in the crowd against Milan anyhow.

The idea itself is brilliant indeed but should it serve other purposes than embody the already mentioned significance of the Aquila it is rather hopeless.

The eagle is in Rome. On the official page you can read that la lazio ask fans to name the eagle. Send your prepositions here:

I vote Adamo too.

During a barren spell if one was to come, I can imagine the eagle flying away from his augers and saying to himself, fuck this shit, there's better things to do with my time

But Benfica beat those English bastards 2-1 at home

We shall try that, but I'd prefer at the derby

Here is the eagle. Its a female so all male names are in vain. I don't know what it means in Italian but the name "Scheggia" is the favorite so far. As you can see, we are talking about bald American eagle.

Good luck eagle, I hope you take a crap over the VIP box.
