Not sure how many heard of Reja's comments after the game, he wasn't too happy with fans who whistled when he subbed Zarate or with the media which he feels constantly tries to stir trouble in the room. In essence he said that he was the one who would make the decisions...period. Since when did running a football team become democratic?

Also, it seems Gonzalez initially resisted being subbed into the game yesterday. Are we for real?  Zarate had a poor match, and anyway Kozak actually helped bring about the winning goal. Sometimes the CN should really just shut up, how the fuck, on the whole, can they criticize the Reja after what he's done for this team since that Parma match 9 months ago? As for Gonzalez, I wouldn't have let him get changed in the room - call him a cab and send him straight to Fumicino.

Sorry, but this nonsense drives me insane - almost half way through the season and we're three points from the top. Can you imagine if someone had told you this a year ago? MAH!

Forza Mister!

I read about that this morning. Zarate needs to fuckin stop being a whiney little bitch. Now we know that Gonzalez is not only useless to the team but has bad morale ... what perfect timing. Now we can sell him off to some other team. It's hard for me to get behind Zarate when he pulls these tantrums. For a guy that's inconsistent and not living up to his hype i still think he's easily replaceable and should be a little more humble.

As for the CN, clearly filled with some ignorant idiots.

Mercato is here to remedy our current roster.

Thank You Edy for taking this team to where it is right now!

I wouldn't say Zarate had a bad game yesterday.  He's def. maturing with each passing game.  To defend the CN for a second.  Zarate live is definitely different then what we see on TV.  His mazy runs that he does definitely is a spectacle to behold inside the CN so it actually looks like he does a lot more work or is more inventive going forward which is something the CN appreciates and applauds.  They really don't give a shit if he passes or not.  So I can understand their frustration at him being subbed.  Soccer is still entertainment and for them their entertainment is Maurito.  By the 2nd half Hernanes had drifted from the match which he tends to do from time to time, so I think replacing him at the time would have been better.  Nonetheless good for Kozak and Reja who looked smart for a change with his substitute decisions.

Reja is a great coach and I wouldn't switch him with anyone except Mourinho. But he says such things that I hate hearing from a coach

example
---------
Finally, Reja gave an insight into Lazio's plans for the January transfer window.

“We are aware of what is happening in the European and the South American markets. But it's difficult to do business in January. I have already said to the President that we can stay the way we are unless a player of great quality presents himself on the market.”

“Milan, Juventus, Roma and Inter have superior qualities to the others. These are the four teams for the Scudetto."

First off, We need reinforcements so does any other team in serie a. Second, these four teams should not have our coach swallowing his pride. We can compete with these 4 teams mentioned. We tied Milan beat Inter and if we had a reasonable sub for Radu would have tied Juve easy and Rioma won on 2 penelty kicks. These teams are no longer inferior to us. Noi Siamo i Biancoblu! He should be saying, 'with important signings in January, Champions League will be a great possibility and will compete with the best.'    The media doesn't need to know the truth anyway. Get the fans and players excited and make the President  feel obligated to push for important results.

I agree with you Aquile89, I read both those statements made by Reja and I was pretty dissapointed in how they are downplaying the strength of the team. I think this team has done enough to prove it is worthy of contending for a CL spot even though winning the scudetto be a little much to expect. We should always try to improve the team further and not just settle on our current roster. I think we still need some help at the back and another striker would be nice to have as well. AC Milan are in the top spot and they are on the brink of signing Cassano. Clearly we don't have their budget, but it just goes to show that they are not settling and are striving for improvement.

As for Zarate, as a striker, his goal scoring average is still rather poor IMO and I care more about our strikers scoring goals then their trickery. I've seen Zarate live and definately entertaining but I care more about the team winning overall. Reja stuck it to the CN nicely with his change being decisive. And as Reja put it, Kozak is still a Lazio player and shouldn't be jeered at. Hernanes is our top scorer and isn't even a striker, this guy has carte blanche right now if he was to have a lesser performance. He and Mulera are are most valuable players .and these are the last two players i would ever want to see leave the team.

Our failure last year was due to a combination of bad coaching and unrealistic expectation.

Reja just fixed both.

Almeida + Santon = Good spring!

Reja is our best coach for at least a decade, and I can assure you 100 % that Mancini wouldn't have got this out of the current squad. Had Reja been discovered earlier, he could have been Italy's finest coach alongside Capello and Lippi a long time ago. Now it's only fortunate we get to enjoy such a skilled coach at the twillight of his career - surely his last big job. If he keeps working at this rate I'd love to have him in charge at least until he turns 70, the age at which Bobby Robson took Newcastle to a third place in the EPL.
