I know that all of us are getting bored with these same talk but.......

Stadio delle Aquile: July 31 project in the Capitol

Now it's even official. Yesterday in fact the mayor Alemanno confirmed that within a few days (July 31 to be exact), the Lazio forward in the Capitol for the new stadium. The first citizen, Giulio Cesare nell'Aula on the sidelines of the awards for Totti made 178 career goals - the primacy which it shares with Giampiero Boniperti - he stressed: "The Lazio is going to present her project, unfortunately, the Rome is not ready" .

No I'm not...

The Olimpico is a wonderful stadium especially when full. The curva is magnificent. I hope that is not lost in the new stadium. Whatever happens, im sure we will grow to love it.

I was wondering when any news of this would ever come up again. Seems like a molecule of progress has been made.

http://www.lalaziosiamonoi.it/?action=read&idnotizia=17408

Not sure what to make of it really, if anything. It's interesting to see that the last activity in this thread was in 2009. I guess that says a lot about progression, or significant lack of, on this front. I don't however think it can be understated how important having our own ground would be in the long run for revenues etc.

Based on the current progress of it I reckon the first bricks should be laid in around 100 years or so.

^^ Berlusconi will fall and the whole thing will be mothballed for another decade.

^^ It's not Lotito in this case, it's the archaic taly. there are about 5 teams waiting for laws to change in order to go ahead with plans.

My impression, and it may be a wrong impression, is that in a lot of cases local councils in Italy don't want to see clubs with new stadiums as they would lose revenue from the ones they rent to the clubs now and as a consequence refuse permission for them to be built. Is this something the laws will change? A lot of clubs need new stadia, it would help the league a lot.

^That's part of it, then throw in politics and clientelism and you got the whole sordid tale.

The reason why nothing happens, can only be explained by one thing...The bribes are too small.

What is with Stadio del Aquile? In this situation, like threat that the club will go to Firenze for Euro matches, I`m asking, what is going with this stadium? If the project is set on daylight before two years, something must happened. Merda is on good path to get one, are they? Talks started about same time as Merda did, but no one damned words about our project in media, anywhere. If someone has information, please post here. But, do not post about "Lotito`s incompetence". We are all very aware of that.
