LAZIO PATRIA NOSTRA

Well I figured I might as well post these here as well. These are the (mostly) weekly Eagle's Nest editorials we generally post on the LCC front page. Just for the sake of doing something more with them.

While it would be an exaggerated metaphor to say the eagle was soaring on Wednesday, it's fair to say that it has, at the least, begun soaring comfortably. On a night in which Lazio's new majestic mascot soared into the Roman skies above Olimpico, the biancocelesti faced a tough test against a perrenial bette noir in AC Milan. With the Curva Nord in evidence again and 40,000 in the stands, Reja's men played a virtually perfect defensive match even if they conceded rather too much in the way of respect to a Milan team that is beatable. Reja proved his tactical flexibility with a well timed switch which bore a supperb tying goal by Floccari and in the end, put Milan back on it's heals.  Whether or not an earlier change might have produced a victory is hard to say, but in the end it was refreshing to see a tactically sound and disciplined Lazio that did not lose it's nerve when it counted.

Up next is a surprising Chievo and Lazio has traditionally struggled on the hard ground of Verona. The Eagles will need to keep their good form if they will leave the Bentegodi with points.

Forza Lazio!
