Ballardini asked what Lazio had done in recent years ?!?! Is this guy related with Lotito ? I`ll need 3 blood samples to prove they are not. Unbeliveablle.

Rossi hits back at Ballardini Thursday 19 November, 2009 Delio Rossi has sent a message to Lazio and current Coach Davide Ballardini. “He was training Cagliari while my Lazio played Real Madrid.”
The Coach parted company with the club over the summer and Ballardini was an instant sensation, winning the Italian Super Cup against Inter, but since then has struggled badly and is on the verge of the sack.
“I have never expressed an opinion on a colleague or the style of play of a team that wasn’t my own. This is why I was very annoyed when Ballardini asked what Lazio had done in recent years,” snapped Rossi.
“I could reply qualifying for Europe three times and winning the Coppa Italia. Instead I’ll simply point out he was training Cagliari while my Lazio played Real Madrid.”
He also had some advice for President Claudio Lotito, who has frozen Cristian Ledesma and Goran Pandev out of the squad in a contract dispute.
“Ledesma doesn’t always listen to reason, but with Francelino Matuzalem he forms the best central midfield partnership in Serie A.”
Nonetheless, the Coach has not put the Biancocelesti behind him and continues to keep an eye on them.
“It isn’t right that I sit here going back over my four years at Lazio just to stir up controversy and trouble. With my heart I say that I hope to see them out of this crisis soon.
“I still live in Rome and it’s wonderful that people stop you in the street now not to ask about Tommaso Rocchi or Mauro Zarate, but just to tell you that you’re a good man,” he told Il Messaggero newspaper.
Rossi is absolutely right. Lazio went to CL 3 times and won Italian cup. He has achieved great things for us. I was never too thrilled about Balla's arrival at the first place because he is not proven to be any better than Rossi. I was expecting big name coach like Ranieria but Lotito is too cheap to spend the money.

Ballardini is everything people have said and worse.
BUT
Am I grateful for Rossi? Let's not forget of the problems of last year. Sure there were highs but there were undoubtedly lows, a couple of really dreadful seasons under his reign. Rossi has painted himself as a saviour of Lazio and almost god like. I do not agree with that at all.

Rossi's successes came when ledesma and mauri were looking like the real deal, mauri even had a NT callup at the time, oddo was sending in pinpoint crosses and was 11/12 on penalty kicks. Real leadership in peruzzi, oddo, di canio. A defence though shitty at least siviglia had less years! We had one of the best attacks in europe with Rocchi/Pandev. Both are of similar ability and the Biggest similarity is that neither could handle a crisis.

And now we have the worst defence in serie a, oddo the mercenary is gone, di canio is 41, Pandev leaves for 5Mio, a Striker who can't pass and about 25 players who are useless! We are much weaker than last year if u ask me...

we are much weaker no question about it, rossi in this situation would be scrambling just as balla is now. Both Rossi/Balla do not have the level of skill to steer a team out of panic and as is the case now the flames just keep getting stronger. Not sure if oddo is a mercenary, not many good players are going to want to waste the last few years of their career struggling for nothing when they can get the opportunity to play in CL. The reality is good players cost money and also want to succeed and play in high profile competitions. With the current system that is not going to happen, the mentality is at rock bottom and the leaders in this organization are not stepping up.
Even if a great player were to sign with us they would still want out because the team is so incomplete it will still continue to fail causing blame and stress on the highest profile player. The players on the field have to deal with the blame of the teams struggles every week while manfredini, inzaghi sit on the bench and collect pay. Order is needed and a system where the coach only starts the best and every player earns their spot in the lineup. This constant juggling of the lineup every week just shows deperation similar to what rossi had shown in his last years of struggling.

The funny thing is the only credit to Ballardini's name is the flukish victory over inter in the super cup. But who actually got them through all the hurdles to get to that game ? I would trade that cup for credible victories in the season and a decent spot in the table, at least then I can feel good about having a decent team with a shot at uefa and some hope.

The supercoppa win is just 1 game. Everyone can get lucky in one game and that success is not the same like winning the coppa and playing 10 games.Serioslly,I cant give any credit to Ballardini and I think the only reason he is still in the club is because like Imper said before Lotito need him in the court for the Pandev case.

Its easy to look back now that we are in the shit as it were and lavish praise on Delio, but the last two seasons in the league were poor, inconsistent and painful to watch. Still, he deserves credit for getting us into Europe twice, Champions League 2007/2008 and this years Europa League, Coppa Italia win and delivering some memorable derby wins on a shoestring budget. Ballardini really would be better served by shutting his mouth here, I can't think of anything positive about his reign here. The supercoppa? I attribute that to Rossi, he got us there anyhow.

Don't forget what team we have back in Rossi era: no Kolerov, no Zarate, no Foggia... and who was our defense line during our long beaten road record? Cribari + Sivilgia.
Delio Rossi was able to make players over-achieve and that seems to be his strength.

I have to disagree... In the last season when Lazio finished 10th Rossi had Zarate, Kolarov(since 2007) and Foggia(since2007). He even had Pandev and Ledesma. Delio made players overachieve ?!?!?! Few to name: Mauri, Meghni, Ledesma, Cribari, Carizzo, Balota..... Delio time was over and it's good thing that we moved, just in a wrong direction. If he new better then he had the chance, so its pretty stupid to comment now in the media *coward*.

Last season we finished 10th but honestlly I think thats how strong this team was/is. We finished 10th with Delio but with Balla we would be in serie B right now. Between 1-10 I`ll rate Delio with 6 but Balla hardly 2. Thats my opinion.
