I would like to see Reja back next season.  I am sick of breaking continuity anymore.

I hope we get a good price from Zarate.

Reja has done a decent job .. zarate is a useless tit.

Reja said: “I will stay in Rome if Lazio nail their stay in Serie A.

“I already have an agreement with the club.”

My heart sinks at this news. Nothing against Reja, but this rules out Europe next year. Reja is not a man to take us to the next level imo.

I hope we get a good price from Zarate.

I can't see anyone paying our orginally buying fee for a striker who has scored three league goals all season, one a penalty, one a tap in and one half decent strike against Parma, and presumably at least we would like to recoup our investment.

How does this rule out Europe? If the right players are brought to the team, than I believe Reja can the job done. He has done an amazing job so far. The only coach I would choose over Reja if he is available is Sinisa. I like Allegri, but I wouldn't replace Reja with him. Explain to me why your so fond of Allegri, that you would remove Reja for him, even though he has done such a great job.

Calm down soldier.

Am I an Allegri fanboy? Wouldn't say that. Besides he'll probably move to a giant in the Summer anyway. I mentioned him because he is a younger manager with fresher ideas, part of the revolution I want to happen circa Operation Overhaul thread.

Reja has only ever been a stop-gap manager in my eyes. My gut instinct tells me that he isn't the man to take us from relegation candidates to Europe for a few reasons. Of course I can't prove it, it's just my opinion. We have had some good results but as you should also have noticed he has made his fair share of dumb errors too. Yes we have scored a few goals but he does strike me as a defensive-minded coach in some respects.
All in all I'd just like Lomerda to stop making safe decisions. Yes of course, keep the manager who kept us up and won a few games, it will be cheaper and easier that way. Mah. I'd like us to be more bolder and go for someone brand new, preferably from abroad.

We did take a bold decision buying Zarate for 20 mln, no more bold desicions from lolito, no thanks. If it's a risky choise and lolito is involved, i would rely on the proved and safe ways

There is no way in hell Lotito will ever sign a coach from abroad lol. There is a better chance of us getting Fabio Capello.

I'm going to pwn you, but also myself. Reja came from Croatian league. I guess that would count as a foreign investment.

But what I really mean by that is a non Italian, foreign coach. I'm desperate for it.

I think this summer would be th wrong time to change our coach .. again.  Bluntly I don't think we can get anyone better and he's done a decent job in keeping us from relegation .. I say why not give him a shot and let him start next season.  Then we'll see

I agree with that, + he managed to get Napoli to qualify for Europe in their first Serie A season (they finished 8th went via Intertoto), so I'm all for giving him next season as well. Sinisa has done a good job at Catania but his achievement is no better then Reja's (Sinisa with a 40% winning ratio, Reja with a 42% ratio), you can argue that Catania have a worse squad then us but in my opinion they are not that inferior.

Just some interesting stats:

Lazio's record in serie A with Reja since he came is 8-6-3 which gives him an avg. of 1.58 points per game. Extrapolated over a 38 game season thats about 60 points. That would be roughly 6th place and a EL berth. Avanti cosi!

What I like about Reja is his ability to change his gameplan! It's not the first time we've come from behind away from home to snatch victory. Me thinks Reja is proving to be our best coach since Delio pre-2007. The Delio post-2007 was no good
