Sampdoria's Giuseppe Marotta Relishing Coppa Italia Final With Lazio
The chief knows he is only one game from lifting a trophy and taking home a European place as he eyes glory this week...
Sampdoria sporting director Giuseppe Marotta is looking forward to the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday, however, he has admitted his surprise at having come this far.

The Blucerchiati beat Inter on the road to the Rome final and only Lazio separate them from lifting the trophy for the first time since 1994, when they beat Ancona in the final. Marotta is relishing the chance to finish the season with a trophy and a place in Europe.

"The Coppa Italia final is an extraordinary appointment for us - we were not expecting it," Marotta told Radio Anchio Sport.

"We have played through the season in limbo but we have never risked relegation. By winning the Coppa Italia, we will be able to play in Europe - this makes it even more important."

'Doria cannot take a European place through Serie A as they lie 12th in the table with three matches left to play.

Delio Rossi Promises Different Lazio In Coppa Italia Final
The Biancocelesti suffered a 3-1 defeat against Udinese on Saturday evening, but Rossi has assured the fans that his team will play differently against Sampdoria on Wednesday.
Lazio coach Delio Rossi knows that the Coppa Italia has a huge importance for his team’s season as it could mean saving a campaign with qualification to the Europa League.

The Biancocelesti will in fact face Sampdoria on Wednesday evening in the Italian cup final after suffering a 3-1 home defeat against Udinese in matchday 35.

"What I know for certain is that on Wednesday we will need another Lazio side," commented the former Atalanta coach to Sky.

"Against Udinese we had a dip in concentration which made us fail when we were at our best. With the Blucerchiati, without any doubt, we shall have to go on the pitch with a different spirit and with another attitude.

"In the game against the Doriani on Wednesday, there will not be any time to study our opponents: it will be a game where who will have more will give more."

Following this defeat Lazio are still in 10th place with 47 points from 35 games played and with Europa League qualification six points away.

This is definately a game of russian roulette on wednesday. Both teams are going to be playing all out attack. Apparently pandev and foggia are OK to play. Hopefully they along with ledesma and kolarov can make a completely different team than what we saw on saturday.

I really think we can and will do this. All season long when we have really had to deliver, like against Rioma, Juve in the coppa, we have taken it to another level. Im not trying for a second to defend our inconsistency but I if we play with the intensity that we did in the derby or in the coppa semi, then we will run out winners

I fully expect this :

                                       Muslera
         Lichsteiner   Rozenhal     Siviglia   Radu
         Foggia        Ledesma      Dabo    Kolarov
                         Pandev        Zarate

There could be one or two suprises i midfield, maybe De Silvestri, or Mauri. Anyone got other thoughts?

All or nothing game that will define the whole season.  Would Lazio have it any other way? Absolutely not.
Let's do a quick rsvp check.  Whose making it out to Curva Nord Bar Wednesday?  And is the official start time 2:30pm or 2:45pm???
