   VS

Another important match .. but aren't they all now ? The Biancoceleste face off with Torino on January 22, 2009 (3 days). This could be our ticket into the uefa unless we pull off a surprise and make CL/UEFA through the league. Nontheless I still want to see our Lazio progress. I think we should be able to pull off two straight wins this week in the coppa and against Cagliari on sunday (cross our fingers). Maybe taking off Zarate early might have served a purpose to rest him a little more for the Coppa match. I'm sure we'll see other players in the match who either didn't play much or not at all like brocchi, kolarov, foggia and our usual coppa keeper Fernado Muslera and rest the other players for the cagliari match which I consider more important. Torino will be fighting tooth and nail considering they are in relegation zone at the moment and need light in their horrible season. We should take no opponents at face value and treat them all as if they are major contenders.

I think we still stick with the three pronged attack instead of congesting our midfield and play all out attack. I'm hoping Matuzalem will be back this week but I think we've been saying this every week for the last 6 months who's inspired me to write a book similar to the 'Where's Waldo' series which I will call 'where's Matu ?'.

It would be great to see lazio lift some silverwear, any with all due respect to torino they are the weakest team left in the competition. That being said i agree we should approach it like any other game. Torino may see this game as an unwanted distraction as they need there best players for there relegation battle, maybe they will play a weakend squad as well. It would give us UEFA cup football, but we should still dream of the CL

Thats a good point about Torino probably making their weekend match a priority even though they're playing Lecce who's just one spot above them in the standings it would be more important to win to get them out of the bottom 3. I don't think we should stick with a trident. I think we should go with rocchi pandev and then zarate foggia. I disagree with anyone that says the trident works.

I'm glad we're playing 2 "easy" teams in one week. If my memory serves me correctly we played both milans in 1 week, milan in the copppa then inter on the weekend.

On a side note, Bianchi's career really went down the tubes quick .. from top scorer on reggina, to man city, to lazio and now he's a serie a ghost on Torino.

It will be a hard match. Rossi should play his strongest lineup possible. We need to start the game with a fast attacking style and possibly get an early goal.  FORZA LAZIO!!!! 00

yeah these games cant be taken lightly. We are having a good year and we can make it even better by going far and possibly winning the Coppa.  I think we can afford to sit some starters and give guys like Foggia, de Sil, Kolarov, a chance to start and play a bigger role for our team.   00 00

I think we can beat Torino if rossi does his job well. This team has potential to win cup.

The general feeling is we need to field the strongest team possible. I disagree. I think we should put out a decent team without burning out our players who we'd like to field on sunday. This is the lineup I would field and
bring in the solid players as needed.

                    Muslera

--Desilvestri -- Diakite -- Cribari -- Radu

       Brocchi --   Dabo --    Kolarov

                   Meghni

     rocchi          Foggia

Let players like pandev, lichsteiner, rozehnal, ledesma rest for the weekend and bring them in only if we're down or in the remaining minutes.

I don't believe the team needs to take it easy resting players with only the Serie A and Coppa matches.  The best team should be fielded every game this year and unless a player is showing visibly that they are tired or inconsistent then they should be replaced.  NO team this year can be taken for granted especially in coppa were strange upsets are common.  Roma has won this competition twice in a row and looks possible again if they face inter so Lazio must step in as inter cannot be trusted.

These are players we can depend on and expecting players to give the same performance 3 days after playing their hearts out is a lot to expect. We need to field some fresh legs when we can. I'm not saying we should field makinwa for zarate to keep zarate fresh. But resting Lichsteiner or Radu for Kolarov, Foggia for Pandev, Muslera for Carizzo, Cribari for Rozehnal .. not a bad team and allows us to be better prepared for the weekend.

WTF ??????????    E CONTRO IL TORINO TOCCHERÀ A DEL NERO E MAKINWA

I just read this on Lazialita. This better be B.S. I don't want to see either player on the field. We need to sell these two just so we don't have this sort of thing happening. If this happens Rossi needs to go .. im sure there's ways with our resources and different formations that we don't have to stoop to playing these useless players.

To clarify my previous post that is basically what I meant.  Kolarov, Silvestri, Kolarov can still and should be considered as replacements into the A team.  Del Nero and Makinwa is resorting to TEAM B to give TEAM A a rest.  If that is the lineup then the game is already lost not even worth watching or listening.

I agree. Watching the game would only frustrate me to see makinwa and delnero and if they lost we all would be singing the same 'delio vattene' song. I'm really doubting him as a coach more and more with his stupid ass decisions.

I saw on goal.com that makinwa was voted the worst player on the whole team. If its unanimously felt and clearly obvious in the eyes of the fans, how is he given chances still ??? and also how stupid can rossi possibly be to play him ???

Del Nero might be a rare case. If he can stay on his two feet.. instead of falling everytime someone comes remotely near him he might actually be decent because he does have good ball control and speed and really how many games has he played in two years like 4 because he was injured almost all the time. Although my choices would be other players he is definately the lesser of two evils.
