VS

This weekends matchup against Inter will be another test to see if we can take down the serie A leaders much like napoli did in last weeks upset. After the shameful display at the Olimpico last week it would be nice to get another win and hopefully get out of our stagnant position. Playing Inter is never an optimistic game for their opponents considering they've only lost 3 games all season.

Hopefully the players will be well rested and ready for the match. Of course missing both pandev and matuzalem is a bit of a blow but i believe this team has enough reserves to give any team a hard time. I think we need to remain focused and go in hungry for a win.

I think most of us have pretty much lost faith that this team will not grab a uefa spot in the league with a tough string of games coming up which is pretty realistic considering we blew a perfectly good chance last week against Atalanta but this does not mean we should take games lightly .. we need to prove that we can contend with the best and deserve to be a team of class and at the top of the table.

The coppa finale is whats probably on everyone's mind right now with just over two weeks from now the fate of the season is held in the hands of one game.

Non Mollare Mai!

Well, I am just checking the results during season and things I saw are that we got only 3 tie, in other matches, we either won or lost. Another thing is almost all matches we won we plyed good and almost all matches we lost we lost. 15 loses isnt acceptable, at least for me. What I mean is that we usually lost or win.

It is a fact that this team can play good against big heads, but sometimes humiliated by shit teams. However, we have a winning streak( 3,4 or 5 matches ) then we have a lose streak. It is killing me in fact. While speaking about good things every time after some good games, this team made us upset mostly. So, I cant estimate how we will play or what result will be, just wating to see...

As to Inter, they couldnt win last 3 matches if I am true, and Milan started to come back from behind. Inter is still 7 points in front but they will care this match tough. I hope we can get a good result and this team can return Rome with a victory. However, a lose or a win wont be surprise for me, only thing I am sure, there wont be a tie.

Could be a good time to play Inter to be honest, they didnt do much down in Napoli and certainly dont look as good as AC Milan at the moment, maybe we can take something from this game. Balotelli out is good for us, as Cruz, Crespo just dont seem able to get the job done for them anymore. Palermo took a point here a couple of weeks back, they are winless in three games so they may be starting to feel the pressure. I hope we can get three points from this one, cant remember for sure the last time we beat Inter at the San Siro, may have been a 5-3 victory in the 98/99 season i think, far to long ago.

I am more optimistic going into this one than I was for the Atalanta game.  I hope Rossi will give some young guys a chance (Tuia or Diakite in the back?) these games are pretty much practice for the big show on the 13th so we may as well.    00

We've been waiting for Tuia all season. There's another reason why delio needs to go .. no faith in youth who have shown they have potential in the lazio youth. Instead he puts in 40 year old siviglia.

Honestly I dont really hate Siviglia, and if I was in Rossi's position in a big game I would probably play him over the risky, unproven young guys.  Hes pretty stable and knows what he is doing because hes been around so long.  But really in the next few league games why not give them a shot?

i would love to see the younger players come through. however, i am not sure this is the game to do it. inter are the best team in this league and if the youngsters take a bashing from them it will not be good for their confidence. they should have been given a shot against atalanta though. they would have been fresher and more determined than the senior players. whether delio gives youth a chance or not this is going to be a tough game. but with a bit of luck and a team that has had a week without a game i can see us sneaking a 1-0 with zarate back on the scoresheet.   forza lazio

Delio Rossi: Lazio Must Not Rely On Coppa Italia Final
The coach has warned his side to stay focused in Serie A and not rely exclusively on the cup to qualify for Europe.
Lazio boss Delio Rossi went back to Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat against Atalanta, which came as a surprise for many considering the team’s recent good form.

Rossi is now trying to encourage his players to take the remaining five league games seriously in order to perhaps snare a Europa League spot in that manner, rather than placing all their hope in the Coppa Italia final against Sampdoria.

“I expected a different result [against Atalanta], but I knew about the difficulties of the game,” explained the Roman side’s coach to Sky.

“We did not play well in the first half from the attention point of view; when you have this attitude, you pay for it. Atalanta were better than us, we should have played in a simpler way.

“In the second half we lacked those flashes which at times we have. We would have deserved the draw, but we are not able to obtain the positive result with the least effort.

“We still have a lot to ask from these last five games. To reach the UEFA Cup [Europa League] we must not only rely on the Coppa Italia final, it would be a crime.”

Lazio are in ninth place in Serie A, with 47 points from 33 games played, five points behind a European place.

Speedy defenders is a good reason to bring any youth even with less experience.  The season is over in terms of the league but that is no reason to just risk entire games.  Ending in 7th is still much better than 11th going into next season especially trying to bring in new players.

I hope that Lazio can utilize these youth players like Juve and Arsenal have done, it is not like there is much of a risk replacing sivilia, mauri, ledesma with a high potential youth player that could have maybe turned the season around and really stood out.  Why buy players when you could have a star player in your own system.

Hopefully we will play as a top 4 team this time, since we always do against bigger opposition.

Precisley, as an example look at Inter now with Balotelli and Santon. Somehow I believe De Silvestri needs to be played more, even if its right wing as opposed to right back. Atalanta would have been a good game for Mendicino to get a half or so, maybe Rossi could have pushed Zarate back into the mid for a bit. How can they get better without playing? impossible.

It would be nice to see Lazio beat a big team in the league. I think the opportunity to qualify for uefa through the league is gone, especially when we have to play Inter, Juve, Udinese, Palermo in the remaining games. It's all about the coppa match!!!!

I think if Napoli managed to win against Inter theres nothing stopping us from doing the same. Plus considering Inter are without Stankovic and Balotelli that might help .. then again it's not like their reservers aren't superstars. We need to play hard and prove that we have what it takes to beat the serie a giants and REALLY make them black and blue.

I don't know, I think I'm more afraid to play Chievo and Siena than Inter, Juve and Udinese!
