Rozenhal: We Are Better Than Roma
Lazio defender David Rozehnal believes that his side showed their superiority last night and deserved more out of the Derby della Capitale.

Rozenhal: We Are Better Than Roma

Despite going down to a Julio Baptista goal early in the second half and being reduced to ten men, the Biancocelesti wasted a host of gilt-edged chances to level the scores.

Macedonian hitman Goran Pandev fired straight at goalkeeper Doni from a favourable position, while substitute Simone Inzaghi and then Stephan Lichtsteiner headed wide of the target from close range late on.

“Only the goal made the difference between us and Roma tonight,” Rozenhal is quoted as saying in newspaper Il Tempo.

“They managed to convert one of the few opportunities they had, whereas we failed to hit the back of the net on several occasions.

“Nonetheless, we proved that we are superior to them. It’s a pity that we lost, as we gave our all but it was not enough. Now, it’s important to quickly turn the page.”

Former Laziali hitman Igli Tare was also adamant that Delio Rossi’s men deserved at least a draw from the encounter.

“The score-line is deceptive,” he insisted, “we should have at least claimed a point as we created four clear scoring chances in the second period.”

mauri, ledesma played shit they should'nt have turned up for the game.

the trident didn't work this time we need someone like foggia for his passing abililty so he can make chances for zarate, rocchi, pandev. brocchi played well he ran his socks off in midd but the other two well.
our defence was solid and lictenstien was good,

we didn't desevre to lose we should have got a draw, roma was lucky to get the goal and to win the match we had most of the poscession and should have won 3-1 at the end.we should be confedent for our next match after our performance

yeah the more I think about this game...the more I realize we deserved at least a point and shouldnt be too critical.  If this had been any other game, it would be a small letdown for a game where things just did not go our way.  It just hurts alot more just because it was the derby, hopefully we can use this game to motivate us to make sure we get the results we deserve in this tough stretch we have coming up.  FORZA LAZIO

The good side of this match is that Ledesma finished with red card and now Rossi on next match maybe is going to see that can play without him, and that in few last mathces Ledesma have made just few (good) additions and finaly that we will play much better without him.

Rossi's substitutions were no doubt a little sketchy. I disagree with people saying the trident failed and shouldn't be used again considering we dominated the whole game. Foggia should have started in Mauri's place. I'm not sure what he was thinking taking off rocchi for inzaghino and after meghni's last performance I'm surprised he was given a chance to play such a high stakes game.

Zarate looked the best out there. He carried the ball and faught tooth and nail to try and give us a goal. Ledesma was wreckless and if we had a reliable sub .. would have been taken off in the first half.

At the end of the day .. I still like our position on the table a whole lot more than their lucky 3 points.
Yeah i do not think the tridente will not work, but not with mauri.
We need a quality and tough player to set them up. free them, a player that will see all the option and capitalise on one.
Mauri was shit and has been most of the time.
And also make the tridente switch places, pandev played on the right side all night, it made me sick.

I don't agree with both of you, the tridente will only work if we have midds like Ballak, Lampard, Gerrard.......But we have Brocchi , Ledesma and Mauri so it's totally Rossi's fault. I don't like using experiments on a derby match. Tridente didn't worked and I'll tell you why. Rocchi didn't get many balls, Pandev is not worth in that position (see the difference when he luckily find in front of the goal) and Zarate, well Zarate was ok. I think he should use Zarate as a winger and Pan-Roc in the att and if things don't work put Zarate with them. One more thing about tridente, in a case that we lose (like this) there is not too much option for a quality sub (Inzagi desperate move, Mehni- this kid don't have any footbal talent). Me personally can't settle with these lose, Napoli Udine Viola all lose so we only need to take even a point and our job will be done, but we don't lose nor win something. Just want to see is Rossi will still experimenting coz u know there a lot of good coaches out there .

you are saying almost same thing as me jofo.really!!

I think Rossi's choices weren't of the greatest and I think any fan watching the game could agree. The trident is up for debate obviously because our mid does lack. It's strange how the fans can see where the team needs improvements but Rossi seems clueless week after week. Mauri, Ledesma and Siviglia are all suspect of being inconsistent and not of the best quality players yet week in and week out they get their chance again and fail to impress.

Clearly a goal down we need to respond offensively and bringing in meghni and inzaghino is barely what we needed. Foggia on the bench was the biggest mistake of the match. He always impresses not to mention has a few goals under his belt but is overlooked by Delio.

I hope in January we can get rid of Mauri, Ledesma and Siviglia just so we don't have to have holes in our team any longer. We've made so much progress this year and we don't need players like this sabatoging our beloved team.

I think the whole team played well and I expect a win in the next derby. Roma barely won with 1 lucky goal and an an unconvincing victory.

I still remain positive this season and I'm sure we've already accomplished more than anyone could ever expect. Yesterday was a hard pill to swallow but 6th place and 11 points ahead of our rivals is enough to put a smile on my face in the end.

Lazio And Roma Fined For Derby Fan Trouble
Lazio and Roma have been punished by Italy's sports judge Giampaolo Tosel for a number of incidents during the Rome derby last weekend...
Both clubs have been fined and players sanctioned. The Aquilotti were fined €15,000 and Roma received a €25,000 fine after crowd trouble broke out before, during and after the match.

Critstian Ledesma has received a one match ban for the red card he picked up for his second bookable offence after lunging with two feet on Julio Baptista. Simone Perrotta also misses out a game for the same reason, he also went in too hard against Goran Pandev. Lazio's Stefan Radu is also suspended.

Ledesma should be punished for this red card and I believe we will play better witout him, too. 00

Losing ledesma might be a blessing in disguise. I really think we don't need him. I'm sure we can put someone in his role and get the same result if not more.

Radu will be missing the next game as well. Unfortunate because I though he played quite well in the derby.

I have to throw in a comment about the fans that came out for the LCC BBQ at Curva Nord Bar for the derby .. It was great seeing all the fans come out and hope we can meet for many more games. The loss put but a damper on it, but it's always good to watch the game with fans. I was hoping we could experience a goal because we would have definitely made some noise.

Yeah Foggia could make chances for our striker. We found four good oportunities to score and if strikers could be fed by middlefielder we could find more. Despite lose in derby which hurts more than every lose, we can play for championship we played better than merda but we just so unlucky. We can be champion.

LAZIALE!
let us consider what is in Rossi thoughts!

1. Do u think changing of Mauri is the right decision?
i think it would be better to change Brocchi with Meghni, because Brocchi didn't give good contributions.
Brocchi only good for dribling, but not for passing, crossing, and heading.
Meghni have a better skill to pass player and have a good passing.

2. Do u think changing of Rocchi with Dabo is the right decision?
i didn't see Rocchi play badly this evening.
if he take Rocchi for Dabo, LAZIO have not enough amunition for attack.
Rossi have to consider to brought Dabo for Ledesma, because he played badly in this game and also already have one yellow card.
Ledesma's pass is also to deep and not accurate in this game.
as a coach he should has an understanding of his player psychology, emotional and habit for predicting another yellow.

3. Do u think changing of Brocchi with Inzaghi is the right decision?
this is the useless decision, by taking Rocchi for Dabo, and then brought in Inzaghi for Brocchi, this is ridiculuous!
Rossi just wasting time without thinking to pressing by a strategy to attack.
where is Foggia who has already stretching before.

Finally, i think LAZIO official should consider Rossi!
sorry to say, Rossi can not handle his under preasure situation when LAZIO left by a goal.
His face is like an arrogant person, he can not think big for the solution.

it would be a good consideration if LAZIO preparing to sack him.
if we never bravely to change a bad situation, we couldn't find a good one, it just like a cycle without a finish.

why not simeone??

all we can do is hoping for a better performance by searching for someone new and minimize the risk.
