Good thing we only played Cesena. Garrido as we found out is not good with aerial balls whatsoever. If it was a stronger opponent he could have costed Lazio the win because of his aerial incapablities.

Aquilotti, Ceccarelli obviously did not play a single minute. Garrido did well overall, I think. I am not in the position to judge if he is total crap in the air but clearly being injured most of the season has affected his touch a bit.

3 points but a rather drab peformance, one of containment. Cesena did little, or were not allowed by us to do anything but we should have put this game to bed earlier. Sculli should have buried that shot at the near post but it was a decent save by the Cesena keeper to be fair. CL qualification has been kept alive, so objective achieved.

Lazio suffer Matuzalem ban
Lazio’s hopes of a top four finish have been hit by a four-match ban handed to Francelino Matuzalem.

The Brazilian was given the punishment today after TV evidence was used for an altercation during Lazio’s 1-0 win over Cesena.

The former Napoli player was caught on camera striking Luis Jimenez in the face in an off-the-ball incident.

Midfielder Matuzalem was thus handed a three-match stop for his actions, but he’ll also miss another game as he was booked earlier in the Cesena encounter too.

Lazio, just two points behind fourth-placed Udinese, may decide to appeal against today’s judgement.

The one-match suspensions after the latest round of games were also confirmed this evening by the disciplinary committee.

Inter’s Lucio will miss the Milan derby following his yellow card in the 1-0 win over Lecce on Sunday afternoon.

Mareco (Brescia), Conti (Cagliari), Giacomazzi (Lecce), Giovinco, Dzemaili, Valiani (Parma), Lauro (Cesena), Llama (Catania) and Pinzi (Udinese) will also serve 90-minutes stops.

We are sooo fucked for Napoli now...Complete change in tactics are needed.

No Ledesma (serving 2nd game of suspension) No Matuzalem either.  All we have is Brocchi, Gonzalez and Bresicano (I just threw up in my mouth)

Mauri or Hernanes needs to drop back now and we'll def. see another defensive approach looking for max 1 point @ the San Paolo in 2 weeks.

Probably something like this:

                            Gonzalez - Brocchi
                        Zarate - Hernanes - Mauri
                           Floccari (or Rocchi?)

I like that, unfortunately Reja does not have the balls to play with two strikers against a team from the calibre of Napoli.

Indeed. We'll be parking a boeing 747 at the San Paolo hoping to snatch one on the break. We took a point away at Milan, which is more than they did, so we can get something there.

Even though Ledesma and Matuzalem are out, I'm not worried. Lazio tend to play well against Napoli.
