After much anticipation, the Serie A Season will finally start this friday and Lazio's first match will be an away game against AC Milan. Hopefully we can start the season off on the right foot and I would even say that getting a point in milan would good enough. It will be interesting to see how the new team performs especially with our new strike force duo of Cisse and Klose who have already impressed. I think Cisse may still be injured along with rocchi so we may see klose with the young libor kozak up front.

If i'm not mistaken marchetti will not be playing this match because he's carrying over a red card from last season so we will have to depend on an inexperienced bizzari.

FORZA LAZIO!

Sure that Cisse will be out?? Than I am surely satisfied with a point but expect worse knowing what Milan is playing for..

Question mark on the Situation of Carizzo? Cant let him out or down, if he is fit!?

It seems that nothing mentioned about Cisse's injury. Radu & Del Nero still injured and we might miss Kozak because of a shoulder injury

That coppa italia victory aside a couple of years ago we have not won in Milan against AC for just over 20 years. I can't say I expect that to change but I do think a point is very much achievable. Given we've already played competitive games and Milan have not that should bode well for us. On paper us and AC were the best two defensive sides in the division last year. Midfields are pretty even as well but they do have the edge up front. It'll be close and tense I feel.

I am really looking forward to the season starting and excited to see us play but I do not expect us to get anything from this game. Point is achievable, I agree, but we need to defend really well for that. My main concern is Bizzarri. He spent most of the last season lying in bed and who can even remember when, unless you count the few friendlies, he played his last game in our jersey? I would not be so worried if he was not facing the likes Ibrahimovic or Pato. Dias and Biava have a hard night ahead, I predict.

I would hope to see this lineup:

Bizzarri; Konko, Biava, Dias, Zauri; Brocchi, Ledesma; Mauri, Hernanes, Cisse; Klose

Klose is most probably not available because of his national team duties and Rocchi and Kozak could both be risking injuries? In that case, Gonzalez or Palle should start on the other flank and Cisse occupy that striker position. That should be the most obvious and natural decision by Reja. I think it is hysterical to even toy around with the idea of playing Monkeyinwa.

I'd rather have Klose for the EL clash the following week, and he can't possibly be expected to play three games in a week. In this case Gonzalez will probably play outside and push Cisse into the lone point spot. Ibra will likely not play and let's remember that Milan have a habit of dropping games early in the season (recall Cesena last year) so I hope we go into this with balls out and guns a blazin. Daje Lazio!

The good thing I think Lazio has for this game is that nobody really can predict what this Lazio is capable of. When opponents see Miroslav Klose and Dijibril Cisse for the first time, especially the first game of the season, I would assume that the team will be very cautious. Nobody knows, not even us, what damage Lazio can do and I think ACM will give us the benefit of the doubt of being a respectable dangerous team. I would much rather play ACM at home first with Marchetti but of course we have to play the champions on their own ground first. I wont be scared for this upcoming match, but rather curious. Definitely would be happy with a point. Of course this is due to change during the game should Hernanes and Mauri can serve Klose and Cisse to a marvelous game. Again so curious about this game and not scared at all.

At the last serie A finally start on friday and not the easiest game to start with but should be a interesting. A point would be good or even if we could nick a win.Bizarri could be a worry plus any injuries we have but I heard that milan might not ibra cos of the barca match coming up for them so we never know.........

Exactly my words. The unpredictable gives us an Factor X which Reja needs to manage, that it goes in favour of our own troops! I still predict the surprise win, but it has nothing to do with our season long performance nor any ambitions for the title or something... THough even a draw will satisfy me, especially if we can get a goal!
Cant wait anymore to see our Aquilotti play!

I remember some time ago Imper wanted Milan for the opening of the season, well there you go  I don't exclude a surprice win for us either, the main concern for me is our defense, sure we have Dias and Biava, but I am not quite sure if they will be as much consistent as last year. For this game they will be facing the likes of Pato, maybe Ibra and Robinho, tough task, but doable with the assistance of Ledesma and Brocchi, avanti

^^ I forgot I said that! It was a moment of semi sarcastic exuberance. Anyway, it's not a bad way to start the season. No room for easing in. ANDIAMOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

This will be a very tough game! I am not sure about Konko, i dont think he is Lazio quality, and Radu isnt playing so...If Cisse, Klose and Hernanes make a lot of trouble for their defence we can play easily with them, but their attack is very strong! I hope somebody will provoke that stupid piece of shit Van Bommel, cause if he gets a red card we can win, but most importantly Reja must get the tactics wright and then we will see!

The wait is almost over. I still do not expect us to get anything from this game. I am not nervous or anything, I just think Milan are better and it will be a tough game for us. One point would be satisfactory and a win would be massive considering it has been 22 years since we last won at San Siro. If the spell breaks I will be over the moon really.

At the moment it looks like Klose will start in spite of his national team game and delay in returning to Italy.
