VS

Back home in the Olimpico after 3 straight road matches.  One was already against our opposition for this match and we all know how quickly Milan got away from our grasps.  The Milan giants will do everything in their power to come to Rome for 3 points as they need to keep pace with the Bianconeri.  Their type of pace setting passing model is definitely tough to combat but not impossible.  For Lazio a few positive trends have been set against Milan in scoring first in both meetings with them this year, this is obviously something we'd like to replicate since chasing the game would not be in the best interest for us letting the Diavoli knock it around amongst themselves.  Another important stat tracks back to last year and it lies under the feet of our Brazilian playmaker Hernanes.  When Hernanes scores Lazio has yet to loose in the league.  (*TIM Cup 2011 vs  would be the exception.)

With this in mind our game plan should be simple.  Let us soak up pressure throughout large stretches in the game and hit these f@ckers on the counter.  Get the ball to the Mr. 11 goals and counting Mirooo and let's put a speed-bumb to AC titles hopes, all the while edging close to the Almighty Terzo Posto

Think this game pretty much depends on whether we can sort the defence out. Hopefully the Chievo clean sheet will be a turning point and we can go back to being fairly solid, thank god Konko is back.  Milan have threats from all over the park and probably the best player of the league on his day so can't see us winning this. Whether Reja can out think Allegri is questionable too. Will go for 1-1 though, second half Lulic equaliser, mon!

We need to stop Zlatan if we want to take something out of this one. His goal against Cagliari was unstoppable at the weekend. Still, I think we will get something out of this one. Klose and Rocchi can create problems for their defence.

Tough game. We really need Mauri back and the Honda signing to happen. Our midfield creativity is really lacking and it seems like the only time we score is when opposing defenses make stupid mistakes or Klose and Rocchi make something happen themselves.

IF we have DIAKITE to cover Ibra, that sucker will see no sunshine and we gonna get definately something out of the game, as long as Radu can cover that Robinho bitches dribblings!
In Coppa it was only three to 5 times bad defending and bad luck at the back, lack of concentration... We should do better this time! And Reja should search for "some special idea" to surprise the Milan back, like in first game of the season... Shame not to have Cisse propably as an Counter attacker option in that match!
But I have faith, that we can compete fairly... The result is never predictable and if some of Milans classy players have moments of genious ball handling and shooting, that you cannot be perpared for... Its simply the class..
But we are a collective, ready to tear dem down as an united group! Non mollare mai!

^^ I was going to say. I seem to recall Diakite doing a bang-up job against Ibra a couple years back. Sick Diakite on him.

Sounds a good way of dealing with milan and would be a descent line up for with konko back we could have a good chance of getting something out of the game

I'm asking seriously
Does anyone really believe we can beat Milan?

this is going to be a tough game. as has been mentioned twice this year we have had the lead and both times they have come back the first a 2-2 draw the latter a 3-1 loss. so simply scoring first will not be enough. Lazio must learn how to play the second half at our pace not theirs. and we can not as we did in the first match drop back and defend. Milan are masters at finding that late goal no matter how many opposing players crowd the box.
the only way to keep a lead on Milan is to keep pushing them, and get them off their rhythm.

We're officially into the second half of the season now and last time we played milan in the first half of the season we were able to draw away which was a great result since milan usually has our card. A win today would be huge but not very likely. Milan is in top form and are looking to catch juve for the scudetto. For once I would love to see us beat this team and maintain our spot in the standings to keep our champions league dream alive although highly unlikely.

Well how about this for a nice finishing kick in the teeth after moving Cisse and failing spectacularly on the market? Klose likely out for the game tonight.

Probabile formazione con il 4-2-3-1: Marchetti; Konko, Biava, Dias, Radu; Ledesma, Matuzalem; Gonzalez, Hernanes, Lulic; Rocchi.

Ok so this is looking pretty bad. we have one striker for the full 90 mins, il Capitano. Cisse gone, Klose out, Kozak out, and even Alfaro has an injury. for fucks sake, I could do with out a more clear representation of Lazios failures in the market. you would think we have to grab some one from the primavera soon.
