Lotito put his measures on the table.

Lotito makes pay threat
Monday 6 April, 2009
Lazio President Claudio Lotito is sick and tired of his side's poor performances and threatens to not pay the players' wages.

The Biancocelesti were woeful on Sunday, losing 2-0 away to Siena, which, incidentally, was their third consecutive defeat in Serie A.

“We cannot lose like this. We can lose, but we have to fight,” Lotito said. “The players don't know it yet but things will change.

“Siena haven't paid their players for four months, right? When it comes to paying wages, I have always been as punctual as death itself, but now it's time to change, we can't go on like this,” he concluded.

Lazio currently lie ninth in Serie A with eight games remaining this season. They face Roma in the Derby del Cupolone this weekend.

----------------------------

For one thing I agree with him. They get paid, the have received treatment as high as possible and not give on the pitch even 50 %. Unacceptable, I will fucking beat them but imagine Rossi after match in the lockroom.
"Don't worry guys it will be better now lets go to eat."

I wonder how that will help, it may further kill them if the minds of the players are not alive again...I hope this measure applies to the coach too, he should be thinking of a coach for the coming season.

Good job Lotito, this result because players, just blame for players, YOU,TARE AND ROSSI is innocent.  .
We lose because players ,right. But everyone here know this result is consequence from system mistakes:
-Appointing Igli Tare as a director and hes really did nothing for this team.
- LOTITO just care about his pocket, everyone knows we need a new DC and a MD but what's Lotito thinking?what is he doing in January? promise about 3 big deals and no 1 come here !!! what's smell?
-Still trust in Rossi blindly, i can't count how many times very body in here talking about a new change. We really need a change, thank for Rossi, but we don't need you anymore! I'm so sick with you, so sick with fucking games as this game. ( lose Chievo 3-0 Cagliari 4-1, Siena, Catania) is unacceptable. This is a dishourable.
I really so sick and really hurt when we lose like that, enough is enough, plz stop this. I want a new coach, a new director, new players.
I really want a new chairman but i think its impossible now. however, i happy to see some 1 buy us from Lotito.

I have always been as punctual as death itself

That's somewhat macabre.. but an excellent quote and I for one am very pleased for his action. He isn't perfect and has many faults, but we cant forget he did save us from bankruptcy and without him we would be playing the likes of Padova, Pro Patria and Pistoiese, and a whole bunch of other teams that begin with P, or don't, lower down the leagues.

If we end up playing those teams due to crap performances, that's of course is another matter.
Anyway, a bit of good news on that front;

Sampdoria Coach Walter Mazzarri is being linked with a move to Lazio this summer, as Claudio Lotito loses patience with Delio Rossi.

Lotito publicly expressed his anger at the way the Biancocelesti are performing this morning and threatened not to pay the players' wages.

Lazio started the season in excellent fashion, scoring lots of goals and winning three of their first four games.

Since then, though, they have slumped, falling to ninth in the table after a run of three straight defeats, the most recent coming against Siena on Sunday.

The Italian Press are now “99 per cent” certain Lotito has chosen Mazzarri to replace Delio Rossi at the end of the season.

Mazzarri is widely regarded as one of the brightest minds in Italian football after helping Reggina survive despite an 11-point penalty in 2007.

He has been at Sampdoria since the start of last season and led them into Europe at the first attempt. The Blucerchiati are also in the semi-finals of this year's Coppa Italia.

Tempting Mazzarri away from Sampdoria will be difficult, though, as he still has one year to run on his contract there.

The 47-year-old is also believed to want reassurances that key players like Goran Pandev and Cristian Ledesma will still be at Lazio next season.

Both players have been linked with moves away from Lazio this summer and are still busy negotiating new contracts with the Biancocelesti.

The Italian press usually get it right with managerial changes.. so lets hope

You can blame Lotito for many things, but right now, the players on the field are not living up to their salaries. Rossi is certainly a problem, but what stops our strikers from scoring? or our Defense from actually stopping someone?

I agree. I think he was pretty generous this year trying to bring us players like Carizzo and Zarate even though they didn't live up to their hype. It really does boil down to poor coaching and lack of motivation from the players. Afterall that is the job of a coach to mentally and physically prepare you players along with game strategy.

Thats exactly it .. first it was our shaky defense but our strikers don't seem to find the net either which is just as bad.

I agree with T_Neuman, we can blame hiim for many things but we need to respect him indeed. However, saving us doesnt give him right either to do whatever he wants or to behave as a irresponsible guy. As fans, we all expect some measures and wanna see positive actions, things working well. I hope Lotito can see facts anymore and I hope, this time, he does what he promises.

But, before many things, we need to get rid of Tare, Rossi and some players...

latius is right Lotito actually did do something last summer with the goal keeping situation, bringing in Zarate, and also keeping the likes of Pandev at the club. Where is the passion, the heart, the pride, the excitement that the Lazio players MUST have when wearing the shirt? Its not been here for a while. Anyone who saw Udinese Inter yesturday would have seen an Udinese team playing with such passion and pride infront of their home fans. Compare that to our last home game against Chievo where we were lifeless. What I dont like from Rossi is that certain players appear undroppable. Cribari, Siviglia, Ledesma are never replaced like Foggia, Rocchi and Rozenhal have been if they have been poor.

Still, it's sad, I really do like Rossi as a person. But, as they say, it's easier to fire one coach than it is to fire 20 players.

Absolutely, I have nothing against him he seems like a decent bloke from what I can tell who just wants the best for his team and over the years he hasnt done bad, 3rd place in 2006/2007 season was a highlight. Looks like hes lost the dressing room though.

You are right about him not dropping certain players, especially ledesma and siviglia.
