 VS

3 incredible straight wins in a row confidence is high in the biancoceleste camp and although I think most of us still have Coppa fever it's time to return back to focusing on Serie A and still try in win to get a respectable position in the table and although the harsh reality is that our uefa entry still isn't guaranteed 100% we need to fight to the very end in every match.

We face Atalanta at the Olimpico who haven't had the best string of matches lately and hopefully continue that way.

Still without Pandev hopefully Zaradona and Rocchi-gol aren't gassed from the coppa game.

the problem with lazio players is that when we are playing with "small" teams , we underestimate them, and we dont play with pacion . thats why most of our lost games are against small teams...We must play at every game like it is a final...thats my opinion..Lets hope we win this game ! Forza Zaradona !

Silinde, I agree with you about underestimating small team manner. But, this is just one of the reasons of our inconsistency... We have seen the same picture a few times till now. We won 4 or 5 consecutive matches, then lost 3 or 4 or more matches consecutively. And, we didnt do anything in match we lost, even a attack sometimes. Actually, this team, when playing full capacity or even a bit more than normal, can be dangerous and score and win.

We have said before the Chievo match that we would win 3 matches and then beat merda. However, we lost all 3 and couldnt even score. This team is really full of surprises... Then we won 3 tough matches, and now next team is atalanta. I am hopeful anymore. Because, I think that our players know anymore that they need to play every match seriously. And, with the confidence of reaching coppa final, attendence to the match will be great I hope, and we can get 3 points...

I hate atalanta, come boys, bring us another win....

has a groundhog day feel to it, and actually this game  concerns me a little because Atalanta will probably sit back and defend and break on the counter. Hopefully we get an early goal and that will open the game up for us to win. The league is still very important, sixth place shoud be the target and if results go ouir way this weekend we may only be two points off that position with 5 games to go. Finishing above Rioma would add another positive to the season. Good point about attendance anti roma, hopefully the olimpico will be buzzing after all we need to keep the winning streak going so we can end the season on a high and with silverwear hopefully

ATALANTA is not a team that we should underestimate, we need to play them with the same passion that we had when we played Juve.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Atalanta was able to beat Inter 3-1. Definately not a team to underestimate.

Probable lineups:

Lazio (probable): Muslera; De Silvestri, Siviglia, Rozenhal, Kolarov; Lichtsteiner, Ledesma, Dabo, Brocchi; Zarate, Rocchi

Atalanta (probable): Consigli; Garics, Talamonti, Manfredini, Bellini; Valdes, Guarente, Cigarini, Padoin; Doni; Floccari

Wouldn't it be funny if the merde finished 6th and we won the coppa final and stole that spot from them, unless I'm completely wrong in how things work.

We need to learn how to just beat these lesser teams.  Its ridiculous how we lose three straight to mediocre teams and then beat three top 6 teams handily.  Lets continue this streak and thrash these guys.  FORZA LAZIO

That would be funny,  but they would have to finish 7th for that to happen as 5th and 6th are automatic Uefa cup places. 7th would be uefa if both the Coppa finalist are in the champions league positions, but the winner of the coppa will get the place this time round if its Lazio v Samp, if its Lazio v Inter then we get the place whatever happens in the final. But, if Merda do finish 7th they will get intertoto cup place, that would be funny

TEAM NEWS

Lazio

Delio Rossi looks set to confirm the backbone used in the midweek Coppa Italia triumph in Turin. Francelino Matuzalem and Stefano Mauri are both set to miss out through suspension, whilst Goran Pandev and Modibo Diakite are both recovering from muscle strains.

Probable Starting XI (4-4-2): Muslera, Lichtsteiner, Siviglia, Rozehnal, Kolarov; Brocchi, Dabo, Ledesma, Foggia; Rocchi, Zarate

Atalanta

Gigi Del Neri will have to make do without first choice keeper Ferdinando Coppola as Andrea Consigli takes up his place between the sticks. Ferreira Pinto, Gianvinto Plasmati, and Alessio Cerci are all currently sidelined through injury, whilst Cristiano Doni is set to grit his teeth and play, despite carrying a calf strain.

Probable Starting XI (4-4-1-1): Consigli; Garics, Talamonti, Manfredini, Bellini; Defendi, Guarente, Cigarini, Padoin; Doni; Floccari

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Following three wonder goals in as many games, all eyes will be firmly on Mauro Zarate to see what the mercurial youngster produces next. With news breaking during the week of Claudio Lotito’s mission in the Gulf, the Lazio faithful will be desperately waiting to see how the ongoing transfer saga concludes. Despite the uncertainty over his Lazio future, the Zarate Kid is certain to entertain once more on Sunday as he looks to increase his tally to 15 goals in all competitions.

With more than half of the clubs in Serie A reported to be seeking his services in the summer, Sergio Floccari will be looking to increase his tally against an in form Lazio side at the Olimpico. Given his Atalanta future remains in the balance, the former Rimini forward will want to repay the Nerazzurri with a strong finish to ease the current unrest surrounding the Bergamo club. Should he add to his already healthy tally of 12 goals, he is sure to fetch a healthy sum in a potential summer transfer.

PREDICTION

With the Biancocelesti returning to their early season form, it is hard to see past a home victory that could edge Lazio a step closer to their cugini in sixth place. Given Atalanta are without a win in over a month I cannot see them causing an upset as Delio Rossi’s side continue to ride the wave of momentum.

Lazio 3-0 Atalanta

FROM GOAL.COM.

I hope we can win by 3 goals with ZARATE scoring again.

Perhaps I'm being greedy, I hope I'm not asking them to fly too close to the sun, but as absolutely thrilled as I am thaty we're in the CI final, I want them to make a serious push to gran sixth place as well. If we can cntinue like this, there's no reason not to be somewhat optimistic. C'mon Lazio!! 00

I think so too and if other teams lose form, fourth is possible. But it is not in our hands.

There are no easy game, especially for us. We mustn't underestimate Atalanta and give what we gave last games. We are in good run and I expect to continue in that way. Hopefully with little luck we can end on the 6 spot and push Merda under us.

Check this out, Delio Rossi will face with Del Neri now against Atalanta and for the finale he will face Mazzri Sampdora coach. Both names linked with our coach position. I think that Delio will try hard to prove that he is better then them and to win both games. Well for now I will wish good luck to him  .
