Next on the list is a game away against Catania who are way below us in the table and just recently tied Bari 1-1 last weekend. Catania is a team who despite their spot on the table showed only 2 weeks ago that they can pull a surprise as they smoked Palermo 4-0.

We have only 2 home games of the remaining 6 matches. However, thankfully Lazio isn't a team to be taken lightly at away games as we've clearly shown in San Paolo despite the controversial calls from the ref.

Hopefully the loss from the derby and napoli have fuelled this team to make up for the heartbreaking losses and make up ground by making Champions League.

Our years best player and top scorer has recently rallied the team that they must make champions league. I think last weekend against Parma we saw that hernanes is key.

We will also see the return of Mauri and Biava who are returning from red cards.

I think Reja should start Zarate on the bench this time and put in floccari, kozak or even rocchi hopefully. Zarate has proven for the umpteenth time that he is selfish and adds nothing to the game. I'll even go as far as saying Sculli has proven more valuable then Zarate.

Forza Lazio!

This will be a very tough match. I was hoping Catania would have won against Bari, pushing them to 38 and theoretically at salvation. But at 36 points, they won't feel comfortable I am sure so expect a highly motivated side. Hopefully, Rocchi can get back into form - he could be just the shot in the ass this team needs to push us through the final games. It'll be nice to finally have a full team back so that Reja doesn't have to make forced decisions.

I'll agree to have Floccari start over Zarate and even Rocchi but never Kozak or that fat fuck Sculli.

Not the easiest away game by far. Catania look better with Simeone on charge and will surely be looking to guarantee their salvation as soon as possible. We, on the other hand should repeat our last performance as a guest. As for the strikers, it's time to bench Zarasell and try with Floccari as a starter. Zarate's attempt's on running through the defenders is predictable and the best we get from it is a free kick. Not that Floccari was great this season, but at least he scored, we will see. Tired of repeating it, but I want to Il Capitano.

Floccari - should start along with Sculli, but i predict Zarate in the second half. I don't see anything see any major changes up front.

In my opinion,

I think starting Kozak wouldn't be a bad idea. This kid really never got a fair shot and his goal scoring average is still higher than all our strikers and he can be used for aerial balls.

Albeit Sculli is Balls .. Fat Balls .. i've come to terms that his role is not that of a goal scorer but someone who can cross and to his defense he played pretty decent in the last match and he really fights for balls .. despite being balls himself. He tracks back and isn't greedy.

I do want to see Rocchi play, but he hasn't played in so long, who knows if he still has it or has fallen out of form. I really don't know what to expect but I do want to see some playing time given to il capitano.

Good point about Catania being desperate now as they are 5 points above relegation, however we got the 3 points against parma and they are even worse off. I think we should be equally as desperate to make CL as everything comes down to hanging on for the next 6 matches.

That's a great point, I agree it will be a very tough game. Catania are all about their home form, there a firey side who come to the boil, much like Napoli, when things start to go their way in matches, check the recent Sicilian derby for confirmation of that. Obviously they don't have the same quality as Napoli though, so if we put in the same sort of performance that saw us go 2-0 up at San Paolo after an hour then we can win here. I think we need to win here as well what with Roma having Palermo next, a dead dog limping towards the finish line so you can be sure they'll win that one.

I agree that this win is crucial (who isn't?). Roma with a win I predict so too keep them at some distance we need 3 points. Udinese have a really tough game and I expect them to lose. A win for us could get us a 4 point cushion on the 5th place with 5 games remaining.

I agree with the Zarate fan. play him for the rest of the year (but still sell him for around 20m, if you can) we really need to try Floccari out wide along side Zarate up front. if Zaza doesnt work pray that Rocchi can come in and..... well do what he does (score). 3 points or bust. having Biava back with Dias our defense should be more than capable.

Catania are undefeated in 5 at home:

1-1 D with Cesena
3-2 W against Lecce
2-1 W against Genoa
1-0 W against Sampdoria
4-0 W agaist Palermo

Whereas if we hadn't won the away game at Brescia in mid-February, then our last away win was in October. The numbers don't really add up for us and surely will be a really tough game. Scary part is we have 4 away games out of the remaining 6.

Though, something tells me Catania are due for a home loss and something tells me this crowd will be the 12th man on the field as we saw with Napoli Soccer. Interested to see this match.

    Zarate       Floccari
               Hernanes
 Mauri
       Ledesma Brocchi
Radu Dias Biava Lichsteiner
          Muslera

Thats what I am hoping for Reja to play, with Kozak/Rocchi replacing whoever is not giving 100% between the strikers. Sculli has been effecient between defending/joining the game but I think we need to push for the goal right from the start against a weaker technical squad which is why I choose this formation.

Last time around Catania really played well and deserved their point. They have dropped a few positions on the table since then but seem to be in good form under Simeone's command. Now we must give nothing away. I would really like to see us to go for the jugular with two strikers, whoever they may be, and pound them into submission before the second half. Might not work out too well in Reja's mind so I guess the most interesting thing will be who is going to start as a striker and who of the Palle/Mauri/Gonzalez trio will start alongside Hernanes.

i agree. Having Radu back is a big boost for us and hopefully Mauri will play as he did against Napoli. Biava is back as well .. so we should have an additional 3 well rested players back in the lineup.

Time to break Catania's home streak!
