This weekend Lazio face off with a Chievo who just got a big win against Napoli. Last time we met we beat Chievo away at Stadio Bentegodi. This weekend they will face us at home and hopefully we can see a more entertaining Lazio then what we saw against milan, but don't get me wrong i celebrated the point.

The last time we met chievo, zarate scored the winning goal. He'll be back in action this weekend and hopefully he do a repeat and up horrible scoring record.

Matuzalem should be back and played starting from the first minute to give either ledesma or brocchi a break .. i vote sitting ledesma out.

floccari and rocchi are still out .. when is il capitano coming back anyways ?!?! .. barely saw him play all season.

YEAH, let's hope we can win by 1-0 at least by a home game advantage.

Rocchi is out for another 2-3 weeks still. Anyway, I want to see more of Kozak the Destroyer!

Let's hope Zarate can do better partnering with Kozak.  I hope Reja plays Zarate out wide and utilize his speed more than his .... dribbling.

For me this is an ideal partnership, Zarate & Kozak.  Zarate finally has a target to his wayward crosses that Libor can pick out.

Would like to see another 4-4-2 come Sunday.  Bring in Matu for whoever is less fit between Brocchi & Ledesma.

Hernanes should play alongside horseface Mauri. Personally I thought Gonzalez settled in nicely on Tuesday after a horrid first 10 minutes.  He could very well settle into a spot.  The guy has some quality in him.  At the end of the day he's South American.

Zarate-Kozak..... I think it could work, especially IF Zarate can put in crosses like I remember early on last year. zarate was literally hitting team mates in the face with crosses, maybe with Kozak one of those will find the back of the net. that being said "IF" has become too often the word for Zarate.... if he can score, if he can cross, if he can pass the fucking ball in the box (get the point?)

Kozak is certainly a hard worker but he has little success with the ball at his feet, and that is an issue for a striker.

^^ It's not just a matter of if, but when. Again, look at the second goal against Fiorentina - Sculli's cross is absolutely perfect in technique as well as timing. Zarate has to pass the ball in a timely fashion. When he dribbles the ball too long, he allows our opponents to track back and close gaps.

Chievo are in good form, and shouldn't be underestimated simply because they are a 'small' club. They were really quite good against Brescia at the weekend and must have been pretty good to down Napoli last night. They'll no doubt sit back and try to hit us on the counter which gives us a different prospect than we faced on Tuesday where we were under pressure. Still, anything but a win would be a disappointment.

Kozak is certainly a hard worker but he has little success with the ball at his feet, and that is an issue for a striker.

I agree, he's got great ariel qualities but on the ground I've yet to see much to get excited about. Still, he's done well so far and exceeded expectation. Playing next to Zarate, well it will only work if Zarate see's fit to pass the ball. He's had targets before in the box and yet 9 times out of 10 goes for the selfish option. If it came off, say even half the time, then I wouldn't mind but it rarely comes off. We need to see some value from him soon else he'l continue to be a liability.

Chievo can not be looked at as an easy game. Since Bologna & Lecce loss it's clear no team should be underestimated especially a team that can beat Napoli 2 nothing. While Kozak doesn't have footwork i can see potential for him becoming a successful target man like players in their prime who scored a whack of goals like luca toni or amauri.

If Zarate can dedicate more effort in to trying to assist kozak feeding him the ball, I think we can see a great duo.

^^^ Any of the domains .org or .com are American and therefore fall under the purview of the American authorities so they are shut down everywhere once they are seized. However .es or .me or .in do not and are therefore running .

Apparently, the US gov't figured it wasn't poverty, violence or joblessness that were the real problems facing average Americans, it was, in fact, streaming sports on the internet. I'm sure this has something to do with the super(shit)bowl.

I didn't realize that a win @ home against Chievo would be like going against the grain.

Not since 2003 have we beat them at home.  I can definitely remember some horror shows at home against the flying donkeys.

0-3 in 2009 @ home.

Last year the CN arriving 15 minutes late on purpose walking into a Stendardo goal.  (1-1 finish...ps Ballar-merda was still in charge @ this point)

Also in 04-05 we dropped another home match in Di Canio's first season back...can't remember the score 1-2 or 0-1.

Either way this is our first 3 points on route to the magic number of 67 for a Champions League spot.  *fingers crossed.

Tomorrow's probable formations looks like this heading into Sunday:

PROBABILE FORMAZIONE (4-3-1-2): Muslera, Lichtsteiner, Biava, Dias, Radu; Brocchi, Matuzalem, Mauri; Hernanes; Kozak, Zārate.

PROBABILE PANCHINA: Berni, Stendardo, Scaloni, Ledesma, Bresciano, Gonzalez, Sculli.

INDISPONIBILI: Garrido, Diakitč, Floccari, Rocchi, Meghni,

Chievo really are a bunch of chooch'es besides Pellisier. They are so inconsistant to the extremes that they are probably the minnow team that any team would worry about. Even though when I match us up on the pregame quality for quality their is a big difference, I can never feel confident against Chievo.

Kozak-Zarate will be interesting. For some reason I instinct this is going to work and Reja will have a tough time putting Floccari back in the 11. Nice to see Ledesma off the field. I expect Matuzalem run like a fucken ninny out there as usual since he's fresh. I still must say I'm glad to see Matuzalem than Alvaro or Bresciano instead.

Forza Lazio
