an away draw is a good result against fiorentina, plain and simple.  This forum is really getting hard to please, good results are never good enough, and when we lose well we may as well fold the franchise!!

1 point away at fiorentina is a good result for this team .. big picture .. this team is still hopeless. Maybe i'm pessimistic because this team hasn't won since the first 2 games of the season. Lazio have to play Sampdoria next who are a better team and i'm no too optimistic of that game either.

We have some good players, if we pick our best 11 we can play any team and win on a good day, but when u look at the bench and the squad in general u have to shake ur head in hopelessness.
So i do not think it is about the starting 11 but the squad in general and the mentality of the team.
From the keeper to the number 9, i do not think samp is better latius.....i dont think so..............we almost killed palermo last week, but now as i write they are whipping juve 2-0........whats that?

I love the ref.  I am happy with the draw.

Foggia probably can't play 90 min.  I really hope he was on the field in the last 20 min but he wasn't.

Foggia had the best chance of the game, on either side, and missed it. For an away game with a dozen key injuries I'm not sure what some of you expect.

Kolarov missing, Diakite missing I regard as key... I prefer Brocchi to Mauri, but that's personal. In terms of key players, I thought we had most of them playing. Where did you get dozen from?!

It was figurative man, but I think there are more injuries than that, by my account Kolarov is suspended and Makinwa, Brocchi, Scaloni, Siviglia, Firmani, Diakite, Cruz are injured - so 8 instead of 12.

Heh, well you stated a dozen "key players" , whereas we simply don't have more then 3 "key players" that are missing. For me, Scaloni, Makinwa, Firmani et al are not, key players, so they do not count. The three I mentioned are the only ones whom we miss, and can therefore be constituted as big losses. Sorry, but I'm a stickler for accuracy.

Simple as this, it was a game for Gk. Defenders on both side run like chickens, the game was very opened. Think what ever you want but Viola only had 10min of the game, they probably played the worse game so far. BUT what is really important was that our attacking line can't finish, which by pure logic doesn't make it good attacking line. We got the best out there (Zarate, Foggia, Rocchi) and I must say that the old baldy was the best of them. Thats really disappointing knowing the fact that he missed 1-2 good chances.

  - Thx for the good wishes, I'll put my scarf to make me worm.

I was quite optimistic before the game because I thought we finally learnt to create chances and finish them in Sofia. Obviously the opponent was weaker there but I figured it should still have had a liberating effect on the squad after outplaying but not being able to score against Palermo. Not so then. Apparently I was also under the illusion that Rocchi's return made the whole team try harder and play better together. I am satisfied with the result tonight but the fact that we did not score a goal is disappointing indeed. Also, I think it was a mistake to take Rocchi off the pitch so early. Foggia created the best chance of the game just before he came off and I do not think he was a spent force yet at that point.

I'd consider our team great if only the scoreline would back it up. Really our best 11 players ??? i'd say even our best 11 players have 6 that are mediocre and much to prove. I don't mean to come down on the team so much lazio have more to prove than with just 1 victory.

Why would I say Sampdoria is better because statistically they are this season. 2nd place, 16 points, and a win against Inter .. thats not a fluke.

If I was a palermo fan, after today I would think they were headed to the top. Being a Lazio fan i would say we were headed to 15 place before 5th.

Neither Palermo nor Samp will be any nearer the top than we at the end of the season.

I would agree that palermo will fall down but Samp look for real this season, they have gained steam since they got the cassano/pazzani duo generating their offence.

For the season, a draw at fiorentina is fair, we have to balance realistic achievement with hope for this team. Don;t want to say the team's year is sunk but it will depend on the winter market.  If we can get a couple of KEY players then this team can click together to get something done.  If not we will always remain inconsistent.  The games will become more difficult in the league and more crucial in europa league so you have to make the conclusion that we are unlikely to be any higher in the table.  The best we can do stay in 10th, Lotito gets something done in the market and we can make a run for something in the winter.  This team is far away from needing to be demolished and rebuilt but we need improvments, with players like baronio and mauri we are playing everygame underhanded like we have 2 red cards at the start of the game.

TR18 and imperlatorium said it.......and I wanna say it again:

Today's game may not have been a well-played game by Lazio but...............to get a draw at Fiorentina is a great result. We can go on and on about Lotito and the transfer market but to get a point at Fiorentina is a very good result for us. Sure, a win would have been fantastic but a draw is just fine.

And, as a side note, Theo, you're quite 'entertaining'!

The result is not entirely fantastic but it is good and i commend the boys.
We are good away, if only we can pick the points at home.
