The second last game of the season, Lazio face off against Genoa at home. Genoa have just come off a win against relegation-bound Sampdoria with spirits high after scoring in overtime in the derby della Lanterna.
Lazio have suffered 3 consecutive losses, and Champions League hopes seemed to have been crushed last week.
Aside from needing to win Lazio will need Udinese to lose one of their remaining two matches. Something tells me Chievo is more likely to do us the favor then the already checked out Milan who have won the scudetto and will probably be playing their backup on their remaining matches.
Lazio will be without Dias this game which will be a big hit, although Stendardo is known to be recovered now and will most likely step in for Dias which is great news because if he was still injured our backline would be in a scary position. Ledesma and Mauri will also be back for action this weekend and hopefully will be well rested and motivated.
Reja will have to get the team motivated to try and come out with the same motivation as they had against Inter and Juve despite the results.
FORZA LAZIO!

With our last home of the season,we need to get the fans behind us and get a win and some hope of CL. With mauri and ledesma rested they both need to give a good performance. I think rocchi should start over floccari which can he give to us more spirit and belief to win the match which we need

Absolutely have to win here. I am confident 6 points in these last two games will get us the 4th spot. I want to see a little bit of shuffling player wise and Kozak given a full game. He has been massive for us this season and he's the only striker who deserves some minutes. Ledesma and Mauri back is also a boost. Lets get one over Ballarmerda.
On another note, Palermo have reached the final in the Coppa. What does that mean for the league? If a team already in Europe wins the Coppa, the 7th place is a European place?

5th and 6th is Europa League anyway, a 3rd place in the Europa is reserved for Coppa Italia winners.
If they finish in European place (top 6) then the 3rd Europa place goes to the team who finish 7th.

I don't see Juve winning both their last two games, so three points in this match up will virtually see the minimum requirements of a EL berth. Genoa did well against Samp but that was a derby, they have nothing to play for here while our players have absolutely everything. Nothing but three points will be acceptable whatever the circumstances.
Rocchi to start over Floccari? I agree, he showed much more of an attacking threat in his short time on the pitch than Sergio did.

No options other than winning this game, obviously.
Dias missing worries me a bit. Biava has had a great season but has been slipping a bit recently. Stendardo is passable, and I like him a lot, but coming from injury I am not so confident. I can also imagine Scaloni starting on the left flank.
Kozak is without doubt our best striker this season. He should start. Would not mind Rocchi either. His season has been a nightmare but the little he has played recently has been enough to convince me he can be an asset to this team and we have only so many games left.

Bad news on this front now. Inter have qualified for the Coppa final tonight but are already in the Champions League, meaning the place reserved for the Europa league falls to Palermo instead automatically, the other finalist in this years Coppa Italia. They are in the Europa League whether they win or lose in the Coppa Italia final. Therefore to see Europe next year we have to finish top six. It's confirmed, here http://www.football-italia.net/may11bb.html

If im not mistaken Kozak is suspended this game. At the start of the season so many of you's or pretty much all of you's here were convinced Genoa had a better offseason mercato than Lazio and Genoa would be fighting for a champions league spot. I opposed and you guys thrashed on me hard including Theo and his cocksucker Jofo. I am happy to say at this point of the season that I was waaay right. to you guys. Genoa is a damn awful team in my opinion and with Ballardini in there, I can't see Genoa having an away win over us. A tie sounds about right when you weigh what we have, a depleted defense and a bad offense but I hope to God we can pull 3 points in our last home game.

I was absolutely speechless after the loss to Udine, it was just another wasted chance to pretty much cement a CL spot. If we are about to get anything from this season then a win against ballamerda is a must. If not CL, let it be an EL, not that it will be a redemption for the 3 lost derbies, but anyway, something is better than nothing. Rocchi should start this one, with the fans behind him, he can put a performance to remind about himself. I think he still got powder in his guns. if Kozak is available, he should be next to Rocchi. Anyway

Well, sadly when you look at their forwards and then look out ours and examine their pitiful return in goals maybe it should not be so much of a surprise. Rocchi should start, made an impact when he came on last week. Floccari is out of form and Zarate has barely been any better than last season. This ridiculous debate over where exactly he plays is invalid, given that Samuel Eto'o for example can play anywhere, CF, or on the left side, and still score goal after goal after goal.

I fully agree about Rocchi, and yes Floccari has been out of form for some time. now I wont say Zarate is doing good this season, but to say "Zarate being played out of position" doesnt hold up because one of the hottest strikers, Eto'o can score from anywhere, just doesnt make sense. I would like to see a Rocchi-Zarate front, and if no one can find the net by half bring Kozak on. more than any thing I want to see some desperation in this game, and not in the form of another shameful red card

A few excellent performances aside he has disappointed me this season. I agree with 61514 in that Kozak has been our best forward this season, he is direct, an ariel threat and has in the limited time he has had on the pitch has done well to total 6 league goals.

no real point other than, I dont expect Zarate to be an Eto'o level player. so the right position can make or break a player with as many flaws as Zaza. with an Eto'o type player (speed, vision, passing, scores anywhere, COOL HEAD) throw them any where and they will make an impact. Zarate needs specific placement and proper support
