Finally a home game and the second last one at that where Lazio hopefully can give the home fans something to celebrate. As we're nearing the end these games are becoming less predictable however the team has definately looked better than the start of the new year. Despite losing to Inter last week the team looked on form and Mauro Zarate put in another great performance.

Juventus drew last week to Catania and will be hungry to scrounge up points in the remaining games to try and grab the last spot to quality for CL.

Last time we met Juventus they beat us 2-1 scoring their second goal in stoppages as a poorly covered Krasic who was covered by a very inexperienced Cavanda was able to score.

Mauri will be out of this match, while Matuzalem has completed his 4 game suspension and will be available. Both Biava and Dias are sitting on yellow cards and can risk the next match which is against the 4th place contenders Udinese and this game will definately be a defining game of the season.

We seemed to have done nothing but lose or draw against Juventus for a long time and hopefully the pattern can finally change.

Udinese will be facing fiorentina who are looking better as of late so hopefully they will keep our competition back and roma have an easy game against bari which could put them right on our tail.

Lazio must win this weekend and complete the path to a possible historic season.

FORZA LAZIO!

Its goes without that this game is a must win we cannot fail to lose, a draw is ok but a win we need. Hopefully zarate can continue his run in form and lead our attack with floccari and hernanes, which he needs to get involved in the game and not go missing in this match

I am nervous for this game. Only because Radu is hurt once again and there is no way Garrido can cover Krasic. He was easily beat by Zanetti last game and Krasic is much more harder to cover. Reja needs to figure that out.

This game needs to be won really, I don't want to see us crawl our way into the Champions league and what better way to get one foot into it by beating Juventus. Hopefully Fiorentina can at least draw with Udinese and Bari, unlikely as it is, do something against Roma. The problem with Juve this season is that they often are awful against the smaller teams, and yet come up with big games against the big sides. They won in Milan, in Rome, beat Inter. So, we have to be careful but we can definately win this game.

Yes krasic is predictable but FAST. Krasic outran cavanda so many times during that game i started to think cavanda was retarded for not learning to cover him properly. If you know a guy is a lot faster than you why not stay ahead of him instead of looking like an idiot chasing him down the wing. We really needed radu that game who would have at least turned that game into a draw had he played.

I don't know why i don't have too much faith in this game either. Not that i think juve is better it's just that they are so desperate for a rich club i feel the refs going to make a few dumb calls to support them.

If we don't win this match then the udinese game will decide the whole season for us.

36,000 tickets sold already for this game, including subscribers and not including a hoard of Juventini that will inevitably make they way to the Stadio. I'm hoping will get over 60,000 for this one to make it a real cauldron come next monday.

Agreed. Rube is shit and I despise every ounce of their cheating club. I know Lazio are a better team. However, I can't see us winning this for some reason. Losing to Napoli and Inter killed my faith. We cannot win big games and when the going gets tough we choke. This is a chance for Lazio to prove themselves worthy. I don't see Udinese beating Fiorentina so 3 pts would be huge here. I see a tie at best though. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I see where you're coming from, but personally Lazio has proven to be the better team, the away team I should add. Stupid events is the only thing that did not get us at the least 2 points out of these. I like our chances against Juventus but the only thing that worries me if anything is the motivation after that loss to Inter. I hope they left with their heads held high because Lazio did dominate Inter throughout the game forcing Inter to play dump and chase.

Avanti Lazio

Took the day off work for this coming Monday.   Looks like a few of us are getting together...Venue TBD.  Let me know if you're interested in meeting up Monday to watch us get revenge on the almighty Rube and rub salt in the wounds of all their "part-time" fans. Pfft.

Reja today on the Juve match:

THE GAME OF THE YEAR - The Gorizian coach knows the importance of this game, whose outcome will depend profoundly the destiny of this season: "This match is worth 90% of our season - said Reja who then went on to argue -. It is the game that can be worth our destiny. We know perfectly well that by the end of the season we should try to win them all, but this in particular, with Juventus will be crucial. "
Prohibited wrong then, in a game that is also the most important career of the coach of Lazio who does not hide some disappointment at not being able to gamble with the staff full: "It's the biggest game of the year and I hoped to have it with all the players available. Unfortunately it will not be so and I might be forced to adopt a particular system of play, but I am completely convinced that those who take the field will give the maximum contribution. Sculli's injury has further complicated the plans but I'm working to find the best solution. The team will try to put the opponents in difficulty from the beginning, but at the same time I will have to find a balance with the players available. I will think twice before deciding to implement the deployment because they can not fail, especially as regards the initial setup. " And the disaster is likely to continue even in the next games because many players are on suspension warning and it is very likely that there is some other disqualification from now until the end of the season, where up to now, Lazio has collected 13 red cards, a nervousness that associated mainly to the derby:

"There are games where you do not believe that we deserve to lose and where you disagree to some estimates. The derby then will charge a lot of tension and we have had reactions that eventually there may be aspects of our character. But if you look before that game with regard to the yellow cards we were in the ordinary administration. If you look then do the same for Mauri, I've seen and reviewed several times, but I think we've been penalized, as well as with regard to the ammonizioni recieved in Catania. It was the derby that ruined us in the media. "

50K at the olimpico for this one!!!

Looks like it'll be (4-4-2): MUSLERA, LICHTSTEINER, BIAVA, DIAS, GARRIDO; HERNANES, LEDESMA, MATUZALEM, BROCCHI; FLOCCARI, ZARATE. but there is a smal chance Reja will go to 4-3-1-2. Appartently Reja doesn't want to give up midfield numbers wih Krasic lurking about. The anxiety is killing me.
