This weekend Lazio face Lecce. Second place vs second last in the table. After a dismal and goaless game against Genoa it served as a wake up that this team must remain focused throughout and finish in front of the net.

We must take nothing less than 3 points from this match.

We will be missing Dias this match howver i'm wondering if we'll see the entrance of Diakite and i doubt we'll see stendardo as he's rumoured for a move towards Cessena, truthfully i'd rather see him step in considering he was great last season.

We are 15 points better off than we were at week 19 this year and this year we can shift our worries away from any sort of relegation talk and actually dream of getting a CL spot.

FORZA LAZIO!

A must win game if we are not to lose our momentum completely, but of course to win we have to score some bloody goals. With Dias out, I want to see Radu in the center along with Biava, and Diakite or Cavanda in the left back slot. I also like Rocchi to start over Floccari.

I think we should be ok in this one, taking into our consideration of our home form and their away form. No Dias and no Matuzalem, but against Lecce this should not be an excuse for why we didn't take three points. None of our forwards are scoring, that needs to change if we are to maintain our position. Given how other sides are facing tough tests this weekend (Juve v Napoli and Inter having to travel to Catania which is not easy) a win against Lecce could set us up well.

Yes, top second versus bottom second. I said the same thing before the Cesena game: surely we have it in us to make the game look like it too? Now with a question mark because the game against Genoa took away my enthusiasm. I am still upset about the second half. I am glad we do not have to face a top flight team at this point.

I agree that Rocchi should ge a shot as a starter this time. Reja seems to agree with us. What I would really love to see is us playing with two men upfront for a change but that might be too much to hope for. In defense I would most rather see Dias replaced by Stendardo but it looks like it will be Diakite.

If we don't win Lecce, this will be a huge sign to Lotito that we must buy into this market before the season goes down the drain.

I don't care if Lazio have an off day, if we lose it will tell me personally the destiny of this team this season. We are in home against a team that has absolutely nobody on the team and they've let in the most goals in serie a with 35(2 goals against per game) and the next worse is Bari with 26. They've just lost to the one team that is lower than them in the table.

If Lazio cannot score, it will deteriorate a lot of momentum that we have. Win is crucial and a team like Lecce is what Lazio needs after not scoring on Thursday and opening a new year.

Also, looks like bet 365 will have every game on their streaming page on sunday

Stendardo alongside Biava you mean, Mike. I also prefer Stendardo over Diakite any day and I hope we do not loan him out this month. Mauri suffered a minor calf injury on Thursday but should be able to play. If not, Bresciano is ready to step in. I do not know what happened with the idea of starting Rocchi but at the moment the probable formation is:

(4-2-3-1): MUSLERA, LICHTSTEINER, BIAVA, STENDARDO, RADU; BROCCHI, LEDESMA; ZARATE, HERNANES, MAURI; FLOCCARI.

Nothing short of annihilation sums up my hopes for the game quite well and I really wanted us to go into this game with two men upfront to make it look like we are after their blood.

My bad...agree too.  Rocchi was excellent in the final game of 2010 against Udinese.  Floccari has looked out of shape for a while...huffing and puffing...Bring back Il Capitano!

It's boggled me this season with the exclusion of both rocchi and stendardo. Up until last year I wasn't a fan of stendardo but i have to say he was on top of his game last season and i trust him now and rocchi always seems to do well especially under pressure .. yet we've completely ignored these players and given playing time to players like cavanda, foggia or bresciano.

Off topic, but even though we have a lot of games this month our contenders in serie a aren't exactly top quality being lecce, bologna, sampdoria and fiorentina .. not in that order.

Who on earth are we playing against today? They have seven or eight corners in the first fifteen minutes and we have barely got the ball into their box. We really need to start playing now.

Is Hernanes on the pitch? 20 minutes gone and has not seen him yet.

Now we look like we are playing against an inferior team. Our players just need to stay up, not bump into each other and actually hit the ball when the occasion rises, eh.
