We have scored a goal less and conceded 6 more than in the first period of 9 games but we all keep insisting for a striker instead of a defender  . Obviously we need them both. I am thinking, we should have played Radu for Dias as a CB and tried Garrido as a lb, the latter one is not impressing during trainings but he deserves a chance.

To add further to this, I grabbed these stats from Lazialita':

First Nine games            Last Nine games

W:             7                            3

T:              1                            3

L:               1                            4

Points:       22                         12

Avg:        2.44                       1.2

Goals:           13 (1.44)               12  (1.2)

Conceeded:     6  (0.66)                12  (1.2)

VERY troubling when put comprehensively. At this rate, without some changes, we will have a very hard time staying in the top 6.

Indeed. An outstanding start, in anyones book, has been followed by a period of inconsistency. The stats tell the story. We don't score heavily a lot, but for the first nine games that didn't matter as we were rock solid at the back. That has not been the case since as we've let in as many as we've scored and that won't lead to many wins. I think this tells us exactly where our current and future mercato activity should be, a forward that is capable of 15-18 goals a season and another defender that can sure up the back line like Dias has done.

Clearly Yesterday was a disaster, but we had lots of games like Yesterday last season. Fortunately we've really only had two defeats that never should have been this season, Lecce and Cesena. I havent given up on us finishing high up the table this season simply because more often than not we've shown we have quality. We need an answer against Sampdoria however.

Im sure Im not pointing out anything new but I have to say it.

what one game is the difference? smack dead in the middle.... the Roma Derby. before=7-1-1  after=3-3-3 as we all said it is a game that can make or break a season, and at least for this first half the Roma Derby has altered our course.

despair not, for there is a chance still. Jan. 19th 2011, the second of three Derbies this year could spur on a resurgence.
