After a depressing loss away to Cagliari, Lazio will now face Palermo who will as baggio10 put it "licking their wounds" and probably try and make up for the abuse they received at the helm of Udinese who are seeing tremendous success as of late. Reja will have to figure out how to improve the ineffective attack that has plagued this team and see what combination will hopefully figure out how to find the back of the net. Although our CL dream feels like it's been crushed by the recent matches .. anything can happen.

If we can pull the result and Milan also win we can see a 10 point lead on Juventus, as they were favored to grab a CL spot and possibly the scudetto in December.

This game should be a win for Lazio. If we do not win we will go out of top 4 for the 1st time this season. I hope Bari have the strenght to hold a draw vs Udineze but I doubt it.
We must play Sarate and Floccari !!! + Tomasso Rochi if fit. If we play Kozak and Sculli again we will end up 0-0 or 1-0 the most. To be honest if Delio Rossi was still our coach this game we will win 4-1 or somthing and then we will hit Merda 1-3 or smth. With REja I expect low results.
Come on this season I did bet more than about 20 times on Lazio games under 2.5 goals and all my bets were correct. What that means? We need striking force.

anyway I think we will win 2-1

I agree we need to give Rocchi a run-out here...Even 20 minutes, so he can be somewhat fit for you know what on the 13th of March

Rocchi + Floccari, wili be the best option, of course, if Capitano gone be fit.
I`m little worried because of change at Palermo, so they could be quite motivated for this match. But, two goals in their net should settle the match.
Which is the time of the match?

Match is an evening game, sunday night.

Palermo will be looking to save face after their horror show against Udinese, but an early goal from us could send them crashing back into mental turmoil. It will be important for us to not give anything up early on and to make sure that we don't do anything stupid like against Cagliari.

Both teams have the following suspended players:

Lazio: Matuzalem, Lichsteiner

Palermo:Bacinovic, Darmian

We will still be without muslera who is said to be recovering and training but won't play until the derby.

Hopefully this week our players can score on the other teams net this time.

Matuz is a hit this team can take, we have enough options in mid.

Lich on the other hand is a big loss. who will take his place? cavanda, Scaloni, or I fear possibly Diakité

as for the rest of the team, Im Jumping on the Floccari-Rocchi bandwagon. however I doubt that Rocchi is fit, and even if he was I doubt Reja would play him

I dont claim to be a tactical expert but I think anyone with a brain could tell you, Lazio need to come out attacking. Palermo will be regaining confidence with every passing minute. if Lazio cant go into the half with some kind of a lead, they have no chance of winning IMO.

^^ Cavanda is currently on loan to Torino.

I think scaloni can fill that position but i don't think diakite wouldn't be a bad sub either.

Lichsteiner and Matuzalem haven't been too consistent this season but when they're on they are solid.

We should go with the old 4-3-3 and go all out attack.

                Berni

Scaloni - Biava - Dias - Radu

  Mauri   Hernanes     Brocchi

  Zarate    Kozak    Floccari

this obviously won't happen .. but i just wanna see us pillage Palermo.

oh yea

this is what I read is being toyed with for this weekend

                 Berni

Scaloni - Biava - Dias - Radu

        Brocchi - Ledesma

    Sculli - Hernanes - Zarate

                Floccari

If I hadn't already seen this formation fail several times already this season; I might be confident in it scoring a few. then again I never know what to expect from this team or Reja for that matter.

Leave it to Reja to play for the tie.  This is why we've lost 3 derbies under him and this is why we will never full-fill our potential with him.  No disrespect to Edy but he's not the man to bring us forward.  If we go out into the field with 1 striker on a home match what the hell kind of message does that send? Better to tie than loose? Don't even start with the fact Floccari is being supported by Zarate and Giuseppe "Fat Balls" Sculli (ps voted into the worst starting XI for last weeks game  )  behind because this is still not an attack minded approach.  At this point Zarate has underperformed, but Reja has made it no walk in the park for him playing him way to deep for a player of his calibre.  To make things worse he has to play along the likes of Sculli who just the thought of him makes me want to throw-up in my mouth!   I'm hoping for at least some time from Capitano esp. if we can't find a way through with a goal which has been the story of the year so far.  As for Diakite taking Lichsteiner's place is intriguing and should be considered.  Mobido when fit, is an animal and a fast one at that too.  He did well in that position already twice this year.  Scaloni however will be first choice.  The problem lies in the midfield.  No Brocchi no Matuzalem = we’re fucked!  Only Gonzalez and Ledesma are decent enough to fill in.

WE MUST ATTACK, AND WE MUST WIN NO EXCUSES.

by reading this thread it seems that you guys want to throw everything we have forward and just attack...i dont get it.  The LAST thing we want to do is concede early (or at all) and give them their confidence back.  We've been saying all year that our strength lies in defense, and you guys want to play 4- 3-3 with kozak zarate flocc up top and open everything up, it will not work.   As much as I hate the fact that we do not score enough it is impossible to just throw everyone forward and hope all goes best with the players we have,  especially with defensive players out (lich / muslera / brocchi??)

Muslera might be back - he seems to be recovering quite quickly, but it's not a guarantee yet. Looks like it will be 4-2-3-1. We don't really have the team for 4-4-2 (or at least it wouldn't play to our strengths), and I think everyone has a short memory of just how badly Rossi's "tridente pesante" could be. We win games with Defense, not offense - it's not pretty, and I wish it were diifferent, but it is simply the reality until we get some different players.
