I caught bits and pieces between picking up the kids and cooking dinner and a bad feed. We played well, and are starting to look like we've turned a corner (but just only). Let's hope the market gives us something more. As for Floccari, I knew he'd be good, but man, what a jewel, absolutely brilliant.

Pleasing to get the win, of course. A moment of high quality from Kolarov and some great work from Floccari, and a pass from Zarate did it.

If we can get quality in the middle, then we can win more games. If not, then we will continue to struggle a lot. Floccari and Kolarov moments aside, we struggled to break them down and don't seem to know what to do. Someone who can thread the needle is required, as we are all too aware. Still, with some must win games coming up, Atalanta, Chievo, a win like this will do no harm to confidence and the general spirit in the squad.

GRANDE FLOCCARI!!!!

A better performance from us in the second half. Although we weren't as good in the first we still looked the more dangerous. Zarate was a better team player tonight but he did have a couple of moments where he tried to do to much by himself and ended up running into danger. Defence was a bit shakey and IMO there were some players like Mauri and Brocchi who didn't play the simple ball when they could have. We tried to be to clever at stages of the game instead of just keeping the ball on the ground and making simple passes and movements.

I can take posatives from the game i don't know if everyone here will, thats their opinion and i will accept that. However there are definite improvements still to be made.

Lets take one game at a time and focuss on getting a positive result in Bergamo on Sunday

Forza Lazio per sempre

2-0!!!

Floccari is just fucking brilliant!!!

But two things are not ok yet:
1) Lazio continues without midfield
2) Zarate continue to think he is the only player in the field...

If Zarate pass the ball more times, Lazio scores much more, many goals are lost because he think he can run, pass for 6 adversary players and strike a goal!

Genoa fans must be so pissed by now

why. They are in a good position in the table, Suazo is a good player. They play with pace rather then lumping it up to a target man. The deal suits both parties. I sure wish I was in Genoa's position now.

Bit of a ludicrous statement IMO.

Hope the win helps with the confidence in this team on the weekend.  I absolutley agree that once the midfield is solved this squad can really start to go places.  Floccari was a great addition and hopefully it does not stop there.

Coppa games are very hard to predict any team has a chance, Fiorentina in the league not the same as Fiorentina in Coppa.  They have more focus on CL later on in Feb anyway

I thought it was one of the best games this season. Nothing spectacular but still solid and assured enough a performance. I agree with Lazio365 that we might have struggled a bit to break them down but the important thing is we used our chances, scored two goals, did not let them through and kept a clean sheet. I am especially satisfied with Stendardo and Radu in defense.

I agree. They played well, and have been doing so for a while.

One of the best moments was when I was just thinking to myself how good the defense looks like, a second later Radu loses the ball in the box but without flinching runs straight past Muslera and clears the ball that is already going in.

Yeah this will bring on the much needed confidence in our team that lacked before.
Keep it up boys, I like this set up now, even zarate played awesome.

Well, great win indeed.

First half was piss poor, I wouldn't comment that one. Luckily for us that we have Mussy to save our asses.
Now I don't know what happened in the second half but different Lazio step in. We look compact and pretty solid. I must say that Balla probably find that good defense line and our attack look more deadly then before. However we must get something more from the mercato because you can't except Kolarov to go and save the mid.

I notice that Zarate is improving, he surely didn't win every cross but he "joined" the team. Floccari is gold no doubt about that. Kolarov had a good game and god that kid can play in every single position.

Once again Mauri is the biggest flop of all time. What a guy and when I think that he almost make to NT

Call to Lotito: DON'T SELL KOLAROV!!! That guy is irreplaceable.

Say WHAT?

That's ludicrous.. why so soon? I was hoping it would be nearer the CL games so they could pay, oh I dunno.... ZERO percent interest in Coppa
