Lazio - Reggina Stadio Olimpico Reggina will need a miracle to avoid relegation as they travel to the Olimpico to face Lazio. Initially scheduled for Sunday afternoon, this tie has been brought forward to Wednesday night at the request of UEFA in anticipation of next week’s Champions League Final.
Lazio are pretty much done for this term. They have won the Coppa Italia and now sit 10th in the table. That's why they have no interest whatsoever in these last few fixtures. Still it could be a good chance for several reserves to get some first team action.
"For the third season out of the past four Lazio have gained access to Europe under my guidance," commented a proud Delio Rossi, who is yet to renew his contract. "I will have a chat with the President at the end of the season. No matter what, I will be coaching next season and that's the most important thing."
Reggina won three vital points against Cagliari last weekend but results from Bologna and Napoli meant survival has virtually become a mission impossible. Torino are four points ahead so the Amaranto will have to hope that the Granata, as well as the Rossoblu, drop points in order to give them a chance.
"These results penalised us a lot," explained Nevio Orlandi. "We have plenty of regrets for what we have done in the past. We are hanging on a tiny chance now that Genoa manage to beat Toro. This is all we can do."
Cristian Brocchi is suspended for Lazio. The Biancocelesti should have Juan Pablo Carrizo in goal rather than Fernando Muslera. Rossi is also set to hand Simone Del Nero a shirt while Tommaso Rocchi will be left on the bench.
Carlos Valdez will return after suspension at the centre of Reggina's defence which means Antonio Costa will be relocated in midfield. Orlandi will stick to his decision to keep Bernardo Corradi, who has already signed for Udinese, and Francesco Cozza on the bench.
The visitors have failed to beat Lazio in the past six encounters. But the locals have collected four straight defeats in recent weeks. Reggina have won only three times away from the Granillo this term scoring as little as seven goals in 17 away games.
Keep an eye on: Franco Brienza (Reggina) – He is perhaps the most talented player at Orlandi's disposal. The former Palermo ace scored the winner against Cagliari and looked in great form, it is just a pity though that the season is coming to the end.
Last season: Lazio 1-0 Reggina
Form guide: Lazio (W L L L L) Reggina (W D W L W) Lazio (probable): Carrizo; De Silvestri, Siviglia, Rozenhal, Kolarov; Del Nero, Ledesma, Matuzalem, Mauri; Pandev, Zarate
Reggina (probable): Puggioni; Lanzaro, Valdez, Cirillo; Viggiani, Barreto, Carmona, Barillà, Costa; Ceravolo, Brienza

I hope C4 have got it wrong. With rumours of Tuia getting a start along with some other youngsters I am really looking forward to watching the game tonight. I wonder about the passion of some players (who might be on their way out in the summer) when we realistically have nothing to play for. At least with youngsters you will get 100%

100%.... It will be like a cup final for them playing in rome in front of the fans and some of them starting their first for lazio. I personally want to see them play especially tuia and kozak.

Lich is player of the game, atmosphere is poor.
But be realistic, Coppa was the season and the season from a league perspective has been a failure and one to forget. Coppa brings something to hopefully look forward to next season and some cash to hopefully improve the team.
