VS

Even though this game isn't for a while I think we can still get a discussion started. A way to kick off the new year would be with a win and a team to pick 3 points off of easily  will be bottom feeders Reggina sitting at the second last position with only 13 points. According to last years dissapointing seasons patter we failed to pick up points from relegation bound teams putting ourselves in an awkward position hovering over relegation zone most of the season. This season hopefully we can prove we are more powerful but smashing these teams and taking the 3 points.

By this game Lazio should be with Matuzalem to show what he has in the midfield with possible new faces depending on how the transfer window goes. This will be a good way to warm up for the match a week later against Juventus who have risen to the top and proven to be the powerhouse they are traditionally known for with 9 points ahead of us currently.

After Reggina and Juventus the first half of the season is officially over and we need to keep pace and make improvements and hopefully end the year off in a good note. Anything is possible and a CL spot is definately in our hopes to show that we have evolved into a new capactiy and are ready to step into the field with the big boys of europe.

This could be a tricky one. Reggina are in desperate need of points so will be playing desperate to win. Again, not a bad home record like most of the clubs in Serie A, 2 wins 3 draws and 3 defeats. The reason they are second bottom is because there away form is dreadful so it is a shame that the game is not at the olimpico. Combine this with the fact that we have struggled on the road to be consistant, then I don't know what to expect from this one. However, we must win if we are to keep pace with Napoli, Genoa and Fiorentina. All three are likely to win as they face Catania, Torino and Lecce respectively. I think if we play with tempo from the start like we did in the second half against Udinese then we will have a good chance to win. We need three points as that will be difficult against Juventus. I hope the players remain focused on Reggina rather than the spectacle to come at the Olimpico against Juve.  04 09

We finished the half-season with a win against palermo and we need a fresh start. I think we have power to beat reggina but like every team in serie A they are not pushover. If a team want to win matches, then it needs to run and fight in the field. I expect Lazio to do this and I believe we can win.

I don't think we'll see any new players in this match unless you consider Matuzalem the new player. That guy missed a whole half a season so it's almost like we just got him i guess.

. I'm hoping to see Elano and Matuzalem play together on the pitch. (in case Ledesma gone)

If we got any new players I dont think we'll see them for the first 3 matches. I am excited to see Matu back on the pitch. I think this game will be ours .. or at least should be. If we can't take bottom feeding reggina after a nice break .. we have serious problems.

Indeed, first three points in this new year in this weekend against Reggina would be great. Beating Reggina at their home isn't impossible but our players should RUN and FIGHT for it otherwise it will be very hard as they need points so much too but I believe our guys are very skilled and talented ( not all ), and can achieve a victory in this Weekend!

Matu will  likely play (keep your fingers crossed) and you're right, it will be like having a new player. I am really excitedto see him play for an extended period. I believe he will be a very effective player.

I hope so, I saw him play against Liverpool. He was solid.

It is simple. We have a bad results and now hoping that this break things will go better. Nothing but win is good enough for me and a good one maybe 3-0. I want to see the team perform on the level against FIorentina and although we play against Reggina I want to see 90 min battle.

Playing Reggina in the current state that they're in might be as touch as playing Juventus who we play the week after. They need the 3 points more than anything and this match is scary. I'd rather play a mid table club right now in the season than a team in relegation zone because they have half a season to keep their team afloat in serie a. I hope the break was enough time for Rossi to rethink his strategy which in the last hanful of games was not impressive. Even our palermo win wasn't the most convincing game from what I remember. The next couple games can either revive our hope and our chance to make CL or throw us into the bottom 10 in a race with the merde.

Changes in formation need to be made. Foggia needs to be pushed back to the mid. With Matuzalem back I'd like to see a difference into the midfield. I'm really hoping we end up valueing matuzalem like we value lichsteiner and zarate.

This will be a hard game, no doubt about it. Going down south there is never ever easy but we have not lost there since a 1 - 0 defeat in 2005. According to channel4.com Matuzalem is still injured and will not play as well as Lichsteiner. This is dissapointing but if we want to play in Europe in any shape or form next year this is a game we must win, because I doubt Napoli, Genoa and Fiorentina will drop points. 00

these 3 points are crucial if we want to stay competitive for a european spot and also we have juventus the following week and they are in grand form which makes these 3 points a must have. also i read today that lichsteiner is good to go sunday, good news.
