This weekend the seaon officially starts again as we face Sampdoria who came off a victory over Roma last week while we lost the bottom feeding Lecce. Hopefully Lazio discover their form again and flip things around. Sadly we will see the product of Lazio wearing a Samp shirts (Macheda) and also hoping he doesn't score his first serie a goal against us. I believe we are without Rocchi, Biava and Matuzalem in this match so we will probably see the inclusion of Stendardo again or Diakite. Hopefully we can see a more attacking formation and strategy this weekend as our strikers have barely scored this season. After flying high the whole season nothing would be more heartbreaking then to see Lazio drop more points right now especially after last weeks embarassing defeat on our 111th anniversary.

Forza Lazio!

I think many of you are overrating Macheda, have you seen many games he has played for Man Utd? I have watched him vs Championship opponents and he didn't impress. Most of you wanted him because of sentimental values, ignoring the fact that he would have contributed very little to our goal scoring crisis.

Looks like we got some psychics on LazioForever.

Sir Alex Ferguson said he can be top 10 strikers in the world. Enough Said.

Though, I don't think Macheda will score on us. I think Samp may squeak a goal against us. They are not close to what they are with the simple fact that Cassano is not there. He complimented almost every goal at Samp since last year and AS Merda are completely overrated from the midfield down so Samp's win do not scare me. I think we will see Samp lose more points and finish lower than people think. Also Samp's top two defenders are out and because of this we now have a chance to score a goal. This game for me will be determined on how well Diakite will partner Dias. Diakite may be suited for this game against Pazzini because of his aerial threat. Hoping for the best,

Anyone else see Samp v merda last week? I did, and they looked completely toothless until Riom were reduced to ten men and Juan practically handed them the three points with two woeful defensive errors. Infact, at times it was hard to tell they had a man advantage. If we don't win this game it will be down to our own doing rather than anything brilliant on their part I feel.

Maybe I'm wrong but I get this feeling like some of you want Macheda to score against Lazio. That way he'll punish lotito for not taking him and the fans (you) will say "I told you so", "lotito vattene" ... etc.

I don't care how good Macheda will turn out. He is/will be Man Utd player.

Sampdoria is considerably weaker without their best player and spiritual leader Cassano. Missing two regular starters in defense does not help their case. I am not worried about the opponent. I am worried about us. Just as I was, and rightfully so, after the Genoa game.

As for Macheda, my views about getting him must have become clear in the mercato thread but I do not want him to have even so much as a decent game against us. I really do not expect any of us to take the "I told you so" route even if he scores against us. That would be silly.

Bad news from Formello today...

Stephan Lichtsteiner was forced to suspend his training session after suffering a 'blunt trauma-distorting left ankle.' More info will be available after the swelling goes town and team doctors can reevaluate tomorrow.  But for the time being Cavanda is being tried out again as well as Diakite moving over to the right back and moving Stendardo to the middle.

This is going to be a game for Edy Reja and the players to show whether or not they are capable of doing what they need to do to ensure a win. They were made to look foolish by the bottom feeding Lecce last week and now with this injury to Lichtsteiner may prove to be our undoing in the sense that we are going to be forced to turn to Cavanda, once again, hopefully not with the same results as we suffered against Juve. But up until this point I have a lot of faith in this team and their abilities so let's support them as good supporters.

Lichsteiner is back in the fold. Radu will miss the game and Cavanda has nobody's trust as Scaloni will start in the Lazio XI

Out for Samp Gastaldello Lucchini Semioli Zauri and i repeat thank god Cassano is not on Samp no more
