I agree .. this was a frustrating and boring game to watch but thanks to the ogre we won. I have to say Diakite played well in the back and Gonzalez looks pretty good right when he came in. Hopefully next week our strikers can start scoring again as both floccari and especially zarate were unwatchable. This game marks the start of the second half of the season and this time we start with a victory. Hopefully we have the same success and make CL Forza Lazio!

Godawful game to watch, no question, but the three points were absolutely fundamental.
Good: - Kozak scores again and proves he has a real future in Serie A - maybe not as a starter yet, but the kid makes things happen. I say unless we can replace him with someone who'e actually likely to make a difference coming off the bench like he does (i.e Klose etc.) then just keep him and worry about strengthening our options in mid and D. - for the first time, we played a solid Defensive game without the usual four on D. Diakite proved he can offer something off the bench but let's not get too excited just yet. - Reja actually went for it at the end there - much as he is capable of, and much as his options off the bench allow. I was terrified we were going to see Bresciano for Hernanes and the hopeful tie.
Bad: -once again our midfield went Awol -ditto for the strikers
Ugly: - Zarate. I'll say this for the first time, but it's been coming for a while - maybe Zarate isn't right for this team. I don't think he's shit, that's just stupid, but if he can be traded for a good price, maybe we pick up a more suitable player. - Mauri, otherbthan the fantastic backheel - NOTHING. We need a player who challenges his spot as a starter.

An important win after a rather subdued start to the year. Should boost our confidence for the Coppa Derby. Not the best of performances, true, even frustrating at times, but we were the better side today and I honestly felt the goal was coming before long if we just kept grinding and did not settle for a point. I was also positively surprised by our defense. Diakite and Scaloni both had a good game.
Good set-piece from Ledesma and great finish by Kozak who, I can only agree with imper, has become an important player to this team and really should not be loaned out. What has he, six or seven appearances now and how many minutes? He has scored two goals and once forced the opponent to score an own goal. All of them game winners. Sounds like a decent impact sub to me at least.

I think Kozak prove his ability:5 match scores 3 goals, maybe he will deserve a starting XI position on the next matches...maybe.

Big ups to Lionel Scaloni after what felt like 2 years, the man was in sync with the flow of the game and only made 2 mistakes throughout the 90. Couldn't have asked for more from a guy who probably wasn't match fit. Refreshing to see that Libor will be kept but surely we can't go on with games like these. We really were poor and created very little. The derby is on Wednesday and throws everything out of whack. This could make or break the next few months for us... Speriamo dire No!

I missed every thing before the Kozak goal, managed to find a stream seconds before. am I right to assume Lazio played defensive through out? with scoli and diakite it would make sense to play back a bit. happy with tle win, maybe some team will want "super sub" kozak.... haha. great fk from ledesma, wonderful finish from kozak.

DeBez, I honestly think we played better than in the last two games. We did not play especially defensively. We played really good passing game on their half of the pitch at times but it usually ended with a half-assed effort at finishing. Not that many fancy chances, eh, so it was again a bit frustrating at times but not to the point of despair. I really felt in the second half we were going to win and my main concern was just that Reja and the players might settle for a point instead. So I am satisfied with our efforts today when all is said and done.

and i repeat thank god Cassano is not on Samp no more I really felt in the second half we were going to win really? Just watching how the game was going I saw that we did not have the right tools to unlock Sampdoria. We were so slow coming into their half and Sampdoria were extra cautious in the back. To me, it looked like the game would continue to be dull with Zarate doing what he does and shooting wide or running into the 3rd defender. I am very pleased of this outcome. Libor Kozak. Fuck Klose at this point. Tactically, Kozak fits in our style of play and his concentration and eagerness to do well is very important to Lazio. Kozak in the dieing minutes seems to be working magically. Kozak is at the very last defender and riding that offside line very carefully which his efforts are resulting into goals. His determination to Lazio is far more valuable than experience as a super sub. I would not like to see Kozak go and I feel very fortunate to have Libor Kozak on Lazio. He has already given Lazio 3..4 wins instead of ties. Vital and Fortunate. Thank You Kozak. Diakite played a great game and I am glad he filled in Biava's shoes perfectly. He was very active and attentive and cut out many opportunities from Italian International Pazzini. Pazzini's chances were very limited and came to a point that Pazzini felt defeated by Diakite and triped Diakite for a yellow card. On one occasion did Diakite almost cost Lazio where he did not keep his ear open when Dias had ordered everyone to push the offside trap, Pazzini made a diagonal run and screwed up Sampdoria's only chance. In summary, Bravo to Diakite but he has to keep alert of the offside push. A coach's confidence in a defender will take off any added pressure and I hope Diakite plays his heart out in the derby. This game and the other previous 2011 games have showed that we need some sort of change in our offense or tactic. The Lazio management has to do something because we cannot carry on like this offensively if we want an important result. Sculli would be a great idea and a change of formation. Forza Lazio, back in second in Serie A. **Also, I like that 'Macheda, Uno Di Noi' banner. I wonder how he felt inside when he was staring at it and the Lazio culture surrounding the banner.

^ We were VERY slow going forward, but I think it may have been more a matter of fear than a lack of tools. Diakite was great in the middle, but he can't play at FB. Macheda said he was deeply moved. Chicco said he has always been a Lazio fan, since boyhood an he hopes to come back one day. A feel good story, but really, let's not get excited.

I think that Scaloni and Diakite played surprisengly good. And I still think that Diakite should get more playing time so he could play like this every game.

According to Football Italia we are close to signing Sculli on a co-own deal worth about 3.5 million. Lotirchio offered up Bresciano in a full exchange but Genoa refused .. makes sense.
Sounds like we are still after another striker and the names mentioned are Bogdani (who we've been linked with before), and Tim Matavz and Adam Szalai who i have never heard of.
I think the feeling is pretty mutual on LF that we shouldn't loan out Kozak who has done great in just the limited time he's been allowed to play. I wouldn't mind seeing him start in one of our games. I'd rather him than Amauri anyways. We have never been a dangerous team on corners and I think Kozak could change that for us.
kozak reminds me boksic maybe he can be like him he must play more time, flockari is out of hes form Adam Szalai was at real madrid and i think he was loaned to mainz and he scores there
