The last game we saw Diakite start, which was against Juventus if i recall correctly, he started on the wing and he turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Dribbling through players and advancing the ball up field properly. Certainly, Diakite deserves another chance as he played very well against Juventus. I was actually getting mad at Reja that he wasn't playing. When someone has a great game versus a big team, you do not bench him. You ride the hot player and increase his value. I bet Juventus kept an eye on Diakite but never played since. I am one Lazio fan to be happy to see Diakite's name in the lineup and I may be alone with this one.

It's fine to have an opinion. But I don't mince with mine. Flower flower flower Diakite was great pansy pansy pansy he is a man beast icing icing icing he dekes down the right.

That's fine. But Diakite sucks.

Incredible! Reja is opring for a 4-3-3 with Zarate on Left, Rocchi on Right and Floccari in the middle. Without the ball, we should move into a 4-5-1. As a result, Mauri and Matu will not start. Kolarov and Brocchi will circle Ledesma in the centre of the midfield and in the back Diakitè, Stendardo, Siviglia, Radu. I can't say I don't like it.
From all this I don't like one thing. It is called Siviglia. I also think Diakite should get another chance, And I always liked the idea of three upfront in this Lazio squad. It's fine Edy is trying different lazio startups. He should find the winning formula soon. Unlike some other coaches (no name) who like to play the same lineup every single match, till we reach a record

My problem is is that Ballardini kept doing that. 4-3-1-2, 3-4-3, 3-4-1-2, whatever, nothing worked for him and he kept mixing it up. How on earth is that supposed to help the players? The players need one system that best suits their abilities. So far this season we'd have been lucky if we stuck to the same formation more then a few weeks at a time.

Now, as it happens, 4-3-3 is ghastly for us, because our midfield is going to get raped, pretty much as usual, but espeically in the heat of the Marrassi.
It's painfully simple, 4-3-1-2, with the '1' being Zarate behind Floc and Rocc. Everyone fucking knows this, has been calling it for ages, and we are still waiting for it.

Nope, you are not alone. Sure if he plays bad he doesn't deserve to start but when he has been playing good let him play until he screws up! When our other alternative as right back is Lichtsteiner, who is playing awful, I wouldn't hesitate to give Diakhite another chance. Besides that I'd say Diakhite are much more defensive which is a good thing when we are going to play a 4-3-3.

Yeah that looks deadly on paper but reality is different. With Zara as terq we will get ZERO chances in front of the opponents goal. Why???

-Coz He would be stuck in the middle trying to dribble past 3 guys before eventually pass, which we all know wouldn't happen.

Sometimes a formation doesn't work because of the players. Sometimes it doesn't work because the coach doesn't have command of the team and so players can flaunt the system and get away with it. I may be wrong, but I think Reja sitting Maurito is about him getting a message across. He picked the one "untouchable" and sat him. He's saying that when he sends the team out in a formation, everyone follows the system or doesn't play. Maurito will pass and track as a 3/4ista or sit some more, it's as simple as that.

You maybe right, but since it's never been tried yet.. who the fuck knows really. It could be a revelation - 'Zarate will be unleashed' I read today. Right. For the 100th fucking time I've heard that this season.

Sure if he plays bad he doesn't deserve to start but when he has been playing good let him play until he screws up!

Right, so we'll play him until he makes a mistake, then sub him. That's smart. We'll wait until he does something stupid, concede a goal, then take him off. Why not just never play him? That way he can't commit mistakes. Just a thought.

Whoever plays should be the ones that show effort and teamwork, sitting zarate for the first time this season was a step in the right direction.  Diakite can run up the field and go through players but the concern is defensive, we already have one liability in siviglia and only 3 midfielders to hold up the Samp Attack.  Offenence can be an effective defence if you can hold possession not just quick spurts and loose the ball which our 3 prong attack has failed at continuously.
