Terrible defending again, we are always one step behind the opponents attackers, not even close enough to call it 'closing down'

SIVIGLIA. He got turned inside out by that move, and had no idea where the ball was. Great.

I cant understand that. We score early goal and keep pressure for more a couple of mins then start defending. It is certain that we would concead goal with this defence. So, only solution is to score more than you concead, by attacking.

Now fight for draw and save the day...... great

“It's difficult to leave Marassi with a 0-0, so our only option is to go in without fear and attack. We must rediscover our aggression, as attack is the best form of defence.” -Edy Reja

Ya I can see this tactic so clearly on the field

We need to get another midfielder on to defend and to attack, Samp are walking through a wide screen net right through to our weak defensive line.  All the opportunity to plan and distribute an attack sequence.  We have to have a sustainable attack that is built up.  We also desperatly need to go all out in the 2nd half for the draw with the current results in other games.  How Bologna and Catania are winning away at better teams I have no idea but we got to keep pace.

I liked the tempo and intensity for most of the half. To be honest, I'm not completely sure we did, after all, 'sit back' after the goal. More over what happened was that Samp woke up and our midfield got raped. Guberti and Poli are having a field day, they got all the space in the world they want to pin the ball around. How many times did Ledesma touch the ball actually?

No doubt where the blame lies for me - defence. Every single individual in the back 4 has fucked up. Radu, Siviglia, and Stendardo tried to close down Guberti but failed, and he still got a shot in. Diakite, or 'Rory Delap' as the commentary said (although I have to say Delap is better. Enough said) got nutmegged in a  seriously embarassing fashion, and has generally been pwned down the right side.

Midfield sucks but without doubt, our defence is worse and it's for that reason that we cannot play deep. The defence has to push the fuck up, like the first 20 minutes. I think a draw is possible, and I'd take it, but 4-3-3 doesn't work for me at all. We have to play 4-3-1-2 and I've seen enough of Zarate to be convinced that him playing as treq behind Floc and Roc would work.

Its the same shit every week! Its like all our games this season are scripted, only its played out in different arenas every week. Only this is not Romeo & Juliet, its Mauri & Siviglia.

Commentators say that upon review Floccari was offside and handled the ball before scoring.
