Latius doesn't seem to be about, so I'll steal his thunder (again... sorry folks)

Everyone knows how crucial this game is - we would rightly expect almost a guaranteed 3 points with this game most seasons, if SS Lazio were on the top of her game, and Siena, traditionally, weren't. And of course coming off the back of an impressive result away to Cagliari would only throw a few more coals into the VICTORY fire. However.

If Parma taught us anything, it's that SS Lazio can flatter to deceive. We have supposedly had some turning points already this season (Villarreal at home, Livorno at home, Parma away) and none of them bore consistent, winning form. Furthermore, I'm sure we have all lost count of how many 'home bankers' have come and gone, with SSL picking up just 1 point at best. As reported in the press today, Floccari is missing, but Zarate should be back in.

Siena have much improved under Malesani and are undefeated in 6 games, with a vital win at home to Bologna at the weekend, and of course an amazing comeback against Rubentus. As usual when we play Siena, I do fear Maccarone, a very good player who can pelt them from difference and can score something out of nothing.

It is high time SSL proved that she can deliver a victory that would surely take some of the pressure off the players, with some trickier games to come. This is a must win and nothing else will do.

FORZA LAZIO!

Yeah I still remember the goal he got last game, casual gameplay and all of a sudden a bad angle shot that goes in.  One of the many lessons this season to take no team for granted no matter what ranking or how poorly they are playing.  We must repeat the cagliari game, score a goal, get another goal and keep looking for a third until the final whistle.  With Milan coming up on the weekend the schedule does not get any easier after.

Yes.Its time for Lazio to set Olympico on fire by winning every match on it...Make our home a strong castle that noone can win...If a team can not win in her home...where else could win? This year Lazio did not took advantage of our home by losing many points on it..Time to change this....And the match against Siena...a vital match should be he start...Late one but a start...

Siena was on the bottom of the table and with Malesani started hoping for salvation....Why would not do the same???We are LAZIO!We have history. We have fans forever by the side of the team..Never letting her down....Time for players to prove us that Lazio can survive not matter the difficulties

Yes this does remind me a lot of parma.  Once again, I will go into the game expecting absolutely nothing.  I will not trust this team until they start playing well for 2,3 and 4 consecutive games.  Hopefully we can manage a win on our home ground, but something tells me we will tie.

We should be able to perform well if we stick to the gameplan we had against the sardinians, Reja finally seemed to had realised how to manage the squad. Floccari's injury is a big loss for us indeed, Zarate can not be trusted which of course will affect on the performance, but we still have Rocchi whos confidence should be up after his openning goal against Cagliari, hopefully this will be a turning point this season and we can show some consistensy this time. i'm posotive for the upcoming clash, FORZA LAZIO

everyone, all my friend,,i want ur opinion,,is hitzpelger not deserved to be starting XI??...he come to lazio because want to play in world cup and need 2 play every week, and hammer is good actually compare to brochi? and mauri for letting go many chances,,versus siena,,i sure that hitz is not in reja plan,,if this situation repeat until summer,,im sure he will leave lazio.like eliseu, player with a talent but not giving a chance by coach, who more likely to play brocchi or mauri...

Hitzlsperger isn't even close to as good as he was before which is why he doesn't play. He was supposed to be the best signing and now he is the worst.

from goal.com:
---

Lazio

Floccari, Dabo, Meghni, Foggia, Manfredini, Matuzalem, Siviglia and Bizzarri are out while Baronio, Rocchi and Ledesma are struggling. Biava is suspended.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Sergio Floccari (Lazio)

Floccari is back scoring as he netted the second goal against Cagliari at the weekend. When fit, Floccari has looked quite capable of steering Lazio into the light and his goals will be vital again on Wednesday as the Aquile entertain a fellow struggling side.

---

He is injured, but we should take an eye on him in this match?
This is a good example why goal.com is shit and their autors are dumb.

I will go in this match as a realist again. So as a realist I must say we saw what happened after Parma's game and Siena is in excellent form so tough match. We saw Siena come from behind 3 goals at Turin so even if we score an early goal the game is not safe. And the injury of Sergio makes it even tougher. The lads must show they can take important matches in Rome cause we may be 4 points ahead but everybody knows what is going to happen if Siena take the match as Catania did. We will be in even worse position.
It seems Maurito is up for the match he wants to take Lazio out of the crisis and this may be his chance. Somehow I think he will make good match. I hope it's enough.
Anyway my biggest hope is The Captain. He showed good form in Cagliari. May he begin this match from where he left.

It will be great to see how will Rocchi - Zarate duo gonna work. I really hope that they overcome their "ego" problems for the sake of Lazio.

btw tickets are selling like candy's.

Nows the time to actually prove we belong in Serie A. It will be a high pressure game for sure with it essentially being a six pointer, and one we have to win without question. I couldn't care less how we get the three points, we just must as ultimately it is a chance to put some distance between us and the bottom three.

I still feel rather serene after Sunday, not so distressed and burdened, but I will not let that feeling deceive me into thinking that we will win this game. Win is what we must but Siena are no worse than us, obviously, and have been rather solid as of late. If we can repeat the performance against Cagliari, win comfortably and convincingly, brilliant, but as Lazio365 said I take those three points no matter how we get them.

Jofo, regarding the Rocchi-Zarate partnership, I think Reja put it quite succinctly: "I hope Ballardini is wrong".

Lineup in the training today:

Muslera, Dias, Stendardo, Radu; Lichtsteiner, Brocchi, Ledesma, Mauri, Kolarov; Rocchi, Zārate
