VS

I think i'm still recovering from the last game which left most of us utterly speechless. I can honestly say i felt as bad as I did when we lost the derby because of the way we lost with only seconds on the clock.

Now the team has to put things behind them and try to compete to retain their second place spot as they face off with udinese this weekend. Udinese have had a shaky start but remain 7 points below us mostly thanks to  serie A's top scorer - Antonio DiNatale.

Taking a brief look at their track record which doesn't really compare to ours you can only credit them with a big 3-1 against Napoli. The rest of their games seem to be won against "smaller" clubs.

Motivation is probably low after losing to juventus but the team needs to look ahead and continue to fight.

FORZA LAZIO!

Yeah, Udinese have been rock solid at home recently with Fiorentina being sunk there as well. Guidolin is doing a good job. On the road, they've lost there last three away and I'm convinced we can make it four with the right frame of mind. This one will in my opinion depend on us. If we react well from a pretty sore defeat then we should yield three points.

Last game of 2010. After this one we can all take some brake. So, that said, we should really give our best and show what we are really made of. As Lazio365 mention, Udinese have lost their 3 away matches but that doesn't mean anything. Especially now when Lazio are in the top 4 and all clubs are motivated when playing us. Brocchi, Biava, Radu and Floccari gonna miss this game and it'll be interesting to see what old Reja would do now.

Anyway, I can't wait for the mercato

We should win this game, looking at Udinese, in the first five games they got 1 point. Their 2 away wins are vs Brescia and Bari. Other than that they have not done much in their away games. However they have a good manager in Guidolin and dangerous players in Sanchez and Di Natale. A win will probably not get us higher than then the 4th since Juve and Napoli have relatively easy games, but we could build some distance from Merda, Palermo and Inter.

Not really sure what formation to expect. Rocchi will most likely start in place of floccari, Stendardo in for Biava and one of either Del Nero or Cavanda in place or Radu and we'll probably see foggia in the lineup at some point.

Our defense will have to really be on their toes to cover DiNatale I recommend not giving that responsibility to Cavanda who did a shit job last game as we all know, it's clear now why he's a third stringer and possibly not the brightest person to fall for krascic's trickery 10 times.

Unrelated, but good news is that meghni is almost recovered... thank god .. now hernanes will have to work extra hard to keep his position .. jokes!

Needless to say ending the first half of the season on a high note is of utmost importance. Di Natale scores goals no matter how Udinese play and seeing we miss half of our key players in defense I should expect us to concede on Sunday. We just have to make sure we score more.

I hate these games in particular, the immediate pre and post Christmas matches because there's the real danger that you end up with two completely unmotivated teams dreaming of Castagne and kicking around the ball like it's a panettone. Hopefully they show up like that and we capitalize.

As a side issue to this game, I hope to see a decent attendance at the olimpico. Frankly, the gates have been disappointing especially given our league position. Yes, on the one hand an average of 33,056 if pretty good, especially given the tessera fiascow at the seasons start, but thats mainly down to big gates against Inter, Riom, and Milan. Against the so called smaller sides it's barely crept over 30,000, at times as low as 22,000. All in all, it would be great to sign of with a win at with a decent crowd there as well.

From LaLazioSiamoNoi

PROBABILE FORMAZIONE ANTI-UDINESE (4-2-3-1): MUSLERA, LICHTSTEINER, BIAVA, DIAS, DIAKITE'; LEDESMA, MATUZALEM; MAURI, HERNANES, ZARATE; ROCCHI.

I can't imagine Dias and Biava having a battle in the air this game unless Floro Flores is used in this game. Sanchez and Di Natali are players with great skill and must be alert. Di Natali has the most goals so far this season which also has taken the most amount of shots. Muslera must be ready as he always is.

Appears like Reja wants Matuzalem to grow even more in this lineup. Agreed with him but it must be so hard to leave Brocchi out. They both have been showing quality so far.

Lazio must win this game to show us that it wasn't a peak of form but the quality and healthy mindset they have to rebound and continue its hot form.

Rocchi 2 goals then Di Natali pulls one back. Forza Lazio

Brocchi is suspended. I do not think Reja would leave him out without pressing reasons.

Thanks for the correction. I did not even want to think back to that Juve game. Forget he got that yellow.

Game will be on bet 365

I'm not too concerned with Matuzalem stepping in for brocchi. I think Matuzalem has been pretty good this season whenever he's been on. He's the type of sub i like to have come in and feel comfortable. The big oaf otherwise known as Diakite worries me a bit since he's playing out of position. This team better be on its toes against Di Natale. That guy is very likely to score.

I hope we can see some goals from Zarate who hopefully has been reborn into form and from the one and only capitano. Please end 2010 with a good note. I've been on a downer with the way the last game went too. It looks like the top of the table is going to be a serious battle til the end especially with the merde winning today and tightening the gap.

I'm sure the game will be on atdhe.net or rojadirecta.com as usual.

I will be eating panettone while having coffee when i watch this game.

Here's a nice little prelude to the game i found on youtube. All the goals from 1993-2009 .. and some of them scored by players that will be on the field tommorow. Rocchi really had udinese's card in the past and he's scored some insane goals.  Check it out:

A historic 5-0 win over udinese with 2 goals each from both rocchi and mauri:

Indeed, what a start. 1-0 barely two minutes into the game. Great pass by Rocchi at full speed to Hernanes.
