I thought Rocchi was coming back on for a second ..lol .. lets see how the Aussie does ...

A shaved head is definately a sign of quality and style

Agreed although Mauri's lunch lady style hairnet is growing on me!

well I did say hernanes should get a PK to win

dreadful first half, then zarate off and things seemed to work. how odd(sarcasm). for me Rocchi is the stare of the match, mauri and biava with honorable mentions. once we scored one bologna really opened up, but with out that first one we would have been lucky to score at all. thats all the doom and gloom I can muster.

bravissimo Lazio

Well, that's that. Far from me up to upset the applecart   but I do not think we played that well, and we will need to improve immeasurably for future weeks, it took us over an hour to create a clear oppurtunity. I'm afraid if you think Mauri had a fantastic game you need your head examining, he instead had a fantastic last 20 minutes. Rocchi, Brocchi and Mauri were our stars today, no doubt. Ledesma and Hernanes were ghosts most of the time and I will be keeping a very, very close eye on Hernanes. A penalty is always nice but I was hoping for him to be far far better today - it's clear he doesn't need settling in time like Latius said earlier, but it's also clear that he made several poor decisions in the game, not passing when he should, and trying to do to much, similar to our 'beloved' Zarate. Hernanes needs to quicken up his passing, his dribbling and his thought process if he is going to be the player we all want imo.

Anyway, take the win and head into next week with a game similar to the first round - tough away tie but one we absolutely must win. FORZA LAZIO.

C y'all in the Other match thread for Napoli later, if not, then in the chat tnite.

Indeed, although Rocchi gave a performance of endeavour and quality with his finish.  A good win as Bologna didnt come to play to score until they went one down, which is always difficult to break through. Zarate was absolute garbage in the first half yet apparently he is worth 40 million. Yeah, ok.

A decent win against an average team. We need to push on from this victory, our midfield is still lacking a bit of invention and Zarate was so poor even his most ardent defenders are struggling.  Hernandes looked OK but as Theo said his decision making was poor at critical times. Anyway, a good win onto next week

Decent win indeed after the rather frustrating first half. Total domination it was but when Bologna rather defended their own goal than even gave a thought about trying to attack ours it was obvious getting the first one in was going to be very difficult. They had the whole fukking team in the box at times or so it seemed at least. We did not quite roll over them as I suggested we should but I am satisfied with the result. Mudingayi's goal was unstoppable.

Rocchi was good and I wonder what could have been with Floccari. Whether it is because Zarate and Rocchi do not gel well together or because Zarate is not very good at all is all the same to me, he should not start next time. For Kozak, we need crosses into the box if we want to make the most out of him, nonetheless, judging by this game alone I would rather give him minutes as a sub over Zarate. Mauri's great performance was not a huge shock to me but the most positive surprise in the game it was. I am glad. Brocchi the old warhorse was great too.

Hernanes was not as good as against Sampdoria but I am not worried yet. I understand I am too happy with him just because I simply fukking love to be astounded by a couple of clever passes that he-who-shall-not-be-named could not ever have produced without PlayStation. As long as we win, I am entitled to that.

Three points and two open play goals! Way to go, but it can't get any better than three points

Hopefully the goal will do wonders for Mauri's confidence, I really miss the guy we bought five years ago, hope we'll see him more often this year

As for Zแrate, I can't even bother to comment on his performance any longer. He needs to vattene NOW if he doesn't start to play football
