This weekend Lazio have their first home game at the Olimpico against Genoa. Both teams have started their campaign with a draw. Our's was more credible since it was away against AC Milan while Genoa tied the returning side to Serie A - Atalanta.

Stankevicious, Radu, Cana and Sculli will be out for this match, although Marchetti will see his Serie A debut since he missed the first match on a ban.

Genoa’s Ze Eduardo, Alexander Merkel and Alessio Scarpi and Birsa will be out for this match.

I expect 3 points from this match and hopefully a point to be made that we are indeed a force to be reckoned with this season.

Klose will be well rested for this match and hopefully read to add to his tally.

Lazio (probable): Marchetti; Konko, Biava, Dias, Zauri; Ledesma, Brocchi; Mauri, Hernanes, Cisse; Klose

I think our hatred for Zauri is pretty unanimous .. and hopefully Reja can find a more suitable replacement for sunday. Our defense is really our weakest point so hopefully konko or lulic start adapting and showing that they can fill in the big shoes of lichsteiner.

FORZA LAZIO!

It would be a game which have a lot of goals imo. I bet over 2 1/2 goals in this game and 3-1 for us  . Forza Lazio

WTF? Zauri again??? why not Lulić? Why the hell we bought him anyway, to be a bench player? he must be our first LB, even when Radu comes back.

Reja pls just stop with this bullshit!!

must win. Ok, we grabbed a point against Milan but now this is our home and we are better than Genoa. No excuses.

I'd rather see Bizzari in goal in this crucial game...

Zauri should not be playing at all.

I think Mauri is hurt.

just read that Mauri is out for a month with a pulled thigh, the really what we needed right now. Someone needs to step up as this game is pretty much a must win.

, 2nd game of the season and its already a must win.

I have never rated Genoa highly and I still don't. As long as we have almost a full strength team were good for this game.

Also, Mauri's injury probably will not get him his Italian National Team call up. Now that Italy qualified I was certain he would get calls since he is still doing great things with Lazio.

I doubt Zauri will start, if he does then Reja must be brain dead. He's cost us two wins already and any inclusion would be out of shear stubborness. Even if we're low on options, I'd rather see Rocchi at right back.

This should result in three points but in both games we've shown a worrying lapse of concentration, even if Zauri was to blame. Both goals against us by Milan and Vaslui came within minutes of each other and that shows a lapse in concentration. We also did not kill Vaslui off and that worried me as well. Lets put it right here.

Genoa do not have the most skilled defensive lineup as far as I'm aware, and Hernanes/Klose/Cissé is a tridente that is very hard for teams to contain, since they all possess different charachteristics. We won this fixture clearly last season, and I can't say Genoa looks improved compared to the team they fielded back then. All right, Constant was decent in Chievo, but Frey is over the hill and they'll miss Criscito a lot this season.

Forza Lazio, 2-0 (Hernanes, Cissé to score)

PROBABLE FORMATION:

83 Marchetti; 29 Konko, 20 Biava, 3 Dias, 19 Lulic; 11 Matuzalem, 32 Brocchi; 7 Sculli, 8 Hernanes, 99 Cisse; 25 Klose.

Mauri being away for a month is a bit if a blow. I would prefer Gonzalez instead of Palle and Ledesma instead of Matuzalem but we should win with this lineup too. I am not afraid of Genoa but for me this is a must win after what happened on Thursday.

Mauri being out is a colossal blow. Fuck me! On the positive side, Matuzalem has played fairly well - but t the end of the Vaslui game he was beginning to lose control. That guy is a step, maybe a quarterstep away from being an absolute lowlife. mah!

I liked what I sw out of Lulic last game, hopefully he can be an option in the back.

Daje Lazio!!!!
