VS After a it seemed like forever since the last win and a dreadful strech of losses and ties Lazio finally come out with a win putting them back into the UEFA race although still in a tough spot with much to prove. Next on the hit list is Bologna headed by ex-Lazio star Mihajlovic who has turned the squad for the better since taking over they still have seen a pretty rough stretch of games against big teams with stats below: Inter 4-1 Bologna Napoli 1-1 Bologna Udinese 1-0 Bologna Fiorentina 3-1 Bologna Atalanta 0-1 Bologna AC Milan 4 -1 Bologna Hopefully the last weekend may have given Rossi more faith in foggia and kolarov who haven't been given consistent playing time. We need to make up for the last encounter against bologna when they beat us 3-1 earlier in the season. Being desparate for points and at home should make for a good motivation for this team to gain some ground and restore the lost credibility. Gaby Mudyingai will be returning to the olimpico as our adversary this time. Bologna are a team to not be underestimated and I think we need to play a more defensive style against them and try and net the first goal to build momentum. In any event I have faith this team will do well Saturday and if your located in Toronto come by Curva Nord where we'll be watching the game and having a few drinks. FORZA LAZIO! 00 00 00

From the last results of bologna, they are like us actually, full of lose. After a win against lecce, we should keep this streak and prove that last week winning was not for just one-week-performance. We want our squad to show consistent good performance and get the spot we are fighting for. However, while we are playing against bologna, we should prevent Di Vaio. He scored more goals than every player in league. He is dangerous player. I am hopeful and I think Foggia will continue where he left before. Pandev and Zarate are eager to score anymore after long scoreless time. I expect them( at least one of them ) to score, which gives them confidence and as a result this, their performance increases. Kolarov scored super goal and he will play well again I think. This match is really important and we obviously need to win. I dont even want to consider other results, ONLY WIN.
Forza Lazio 00 00 00 00 00

Our defense is definately going to have to tighten up. I agree with Bologna having a similar track record to us but the difference is they find the net a lot easier than we do. DiVaio has been on fire this year. I say we field the same team as the lecce match and give the fans at the olimpico something to cheer about and restore some faith in this team. Bring us to the uefa boys! Forza Lazio! 00

Classic Lazio footage from 1948-49 where Lazio wins 8-2 against Bologna. I wish we could witness a score like this for once.

Latius stop showing those Lazio videos. I can't see Lazio in mighty years and then this shit of a team. This video should be shown to Ledesma, Zarate and some that don't know what is Lazialita. Losing games from Bologna and Lecce is unacceptable. I remember what Robihno said when he came to City. I despise my teammates, they don't have wining spirit and are satisfy with draw and 1 point (Real Madrid have different mentality). The same with our players. All matches must be a MUST WIN. Fight till the end.

Two things are required from this game for me for us to win
1. A clean sheet. 37 goals conceded in 25 games is poor, we must be solid as a rock. 2. Good movement in midfield. If we do this with Foggia and Ledesma dictating the play then we can create opportunities
I feel our next run of games have come at the right time. Bologna, Napoli, then Chievo should set us on the right track and move us back to 7th place. Then theres the coppa next week, a win at the weekend would give us some momentum for the home game against Juve on tuesday night.

I agree, I think & hope .. things will change for the better now and we'll gain some points (credibility) from the next string of matches mentioned above.
I think Juve is the perfect opponent for the coppa. They have more sights on finishing top serie a to make CL and they will have their next CL match march 10,11 to worry about. We are hungry now to get something out of the season and I'm sure the boys will be fighting tooth and nail in the coppa match.
I hope we can see some magic from zarate and pandev!!! DAJE LAZIO!

Zarate and Pandev should try something anymore. I want both to see as in Reggina match. Zarate still needs to improve his finishing. He can miss easy position. Pandev needs a man to play more effective. I hope Zarate can be a good partner for Pandev. Otherwise, Rocchi should replace. Lazio365,your two determinations (espacially first ) seem good. I bet you are much better than rossi . Foggia is useful and if Ledesma decides to play good and join him, then our strikers can find ball more times. If we watch our matches carefully, most matches we cant send the ball to forward and our hitmans remained alone and uneffective. With a good combination of middle-forward, we will takes what we want, I hope.

Zarate needs to spend an entire week shooting on net. That guy wins the award for eating the most chances. He needs to learn how to one touch the ball and not spend too much time thinking. That's where Rocchi is great. Pandev has that ability as well. Zarate wins for dribbling and carrying the ball over the other two strikers. I hope they can both add to their 8 goals each this weekend.

That is why I want him to play more roll of att winger like C.Ronaldo or Ronaldhino. And to leave attack for good old duo Pandev and Rocchi.

yes long term i agree, i think Zarate has the pace and technique to play in that position and could supply a lot of good balls into the area. I agree with Latius also that he needs shooting practice, but when he gets it right like against Sampdoria and Torino earlier this season the results are fantastic

It seems best for now. I can see that all are agree about Zarate should improve finishing ability. He can do that day by day. Until that time, He should play winger like you said. Foggia and Zarate are good for winger position for now.

Agree, The Rocchi Pandev combo worked great and consistently even when this team struggled years ago. Get them the ball and some half decent crosses and goals will come back.

From Channel4:
Lazio - Bologna Stadio Olimpico Just days after facing Inter, Sinisa Mihajlovic takes on another of his former clubs, but this time it’ll be a scrap for points between teams in crisis.
Mihajlovic wore the Lazio jersey from 1998 to 2004 and has been named as a potential successor to Delio Rossi when the current tactician’s contract expires at the end of the season. Whether Rossi lasts even that long remains to be seen, although this week President Claudio Lotito again reiterated that he would stick with the Coach until June. He bought himself some time when a 2-0 result at Lecce ended a run of two points from six games, but the UEFA Cup race is still up in the air.
Similarly, Bologna are in dire need of a victory after one point from four games, although admittedly these were tough tests against Fiorentina, Udinese, Napoli and Inter. It could be argued the Rossoblu were unfortunate to come away empty-handed against the leaders last week, as Julio Cesar was forced into some fine saves to protect the 2-1 scoreline.
There has been a marked upturn in performance once Massimo Marazzina comes off the bench, so perhaps Mihajlovic will have the courage to adopt that system from the start in partnership with current Capocannoniere Marco Di Vaio. The decision may be out of his hands, though, as Marazzina pulled up with a thigh problem during Tuesday’s training session.
Daniel Pablo Osvaldo, Gabriele Paonessa and former Lazio winger Cesar Aparecido are still injured, while Vangelis Moras sits out a ban. This brings Claudio Terzi back into central defence, although Davide Bombardini is still an option to start upfront if the Coach opts for a 4-4-1-1.
Lazio are missing Stefano Mauri, Mourad Meghni and Simone Del Nero, but Cristian Brocchi and Francelino Matuzalem have recovered from their injury niggles. Last Sunday’s 2-0 win away to Lecce was a much-needed morale-booster and saw Aleksandr Kolarov score a fantastic goal from distance, so he should retain his left-back slot. Once again Tommaso Rocchi is destined for the bench, as the trident of Pasquale Foggia, Mauro Zarate and Goran Pandev seems to be finding its rhythm at last.
Keep an eye on: Marco Di Vaio (Bologna) – The Serie A top scorer has netted 16 so far this season and will relish this return to the Olimpico, where he started his career as a Lazio youth product. The club never really believed in him, so this is his chance to prove them wrong.
Last season: Not played
Form guide: Lazio (L L L D W) Bologna (W L L D L) Lazio (probable): Muslera; Lichtsteiner, Siviglia, Cribari, Kolarov; Brocchi, Ledesma, Matuzalem; Foggia; Zarate, Pandev
Bologna (probable): Antonioli; Zenoni, Terzi, Britos, Lanna; Valiani, Mudingayi, Mingazzini, Amoroso; Bombardini; Di Vaio
Ref: To follow...

I think too much hype has been built around Zarate. Lets be real Rocchi is a finisher. He's barely played this season and has scored goals in most appearances. Forza Rocchi! The Pandev-Rocchi combination is still deadly!
