VS

After a great weekend of results I don't think anyone expected us to make a jump 3 spots from 11th to 8th but technically tied for 7th with Cagliari. We are now in pole position for the UEFA qualification once again but the two games are not enough to convince us of the strength of this team because lets be real .. we just beat Lecce and Bologna who are in relegation zone. What this team needs right now is a solid win against a big team and wednesdays our chance.

Juventus didn't have the most convincing victory over napoli but still they stand in 2nd place in Serie A.  I think the coppa is not among juve's best interests and CL qualification and scudetto are definately priority. That being said I  think they won't be fielding their best much like we will to try and come out with a victory.

Lichsteiner, Rozehnal, and Radu all were rested on Saturday and should give our defense the added edge. I think Rossi has changed his faith in keepers and will most likely feature Carizzo in the coppa match where he would otherwise have featured Muslera.

Hopefully Brocchi and especially Matuzalem who put out great performances on the weekend will pass their physicals tommorow and can play.

Zarate has definately found his form but I'm wondering if Rossi will feature the 1 striker who played the entire 90 minutes over a more rested rocchi or pandev.

I'm wondering what happened to Meghni because we could probably use him in the mid.

This is the formation I expect to see us start out with.

                  Carizzo

Lichsteiner   Siviglia  Rozehnal   Radu

                 Ledesma

      Dabo    Matuzalem    Foggia

           Pandev        Rocchi

This is our ticket into UEFA and lets hope the boys give us a win at the Olimpico and turn the season around to make it a memorable one.

FORZA LAZIO!  00 00

I don't know what to think about this one. It's the most important game of the season and Rossi must specify that to our lads. Juventus seems like they will not give up the coppa easy and fight and thats a big problem.
Without Zarate, Foggia must show his skills and actually replace him. I agree that Radu, Rozendhal and Lichtainer are rested and they need to give their best because this game will be won in the defense. The coppa can only be won in this home game, I don't want to see 3-0 but at least I want to see faces that are motivated and wanted this tittle so badly.
I really hope we will fight to death and get some good result.

After I saw last two matches, I am hopeful against juve. I wonder whether juve will really care this matches and fight with their full energy. I dont think so, they focus on league and Cl now and I think juve's coach can let best players rest and we can see a young team. This can seem well but youngs will play to show themshelves. So, no matter how juve's team will be, we should play carefully and seriously.

As to squad, Rocchi and Foggia should play in 11 Pandev as well. I saw Rocchi were eager against bologna, played effective and I want to see him against juve. Pandev should show himshelf and I want him to score anymore and to play one of his best matches. Come on boys, you can reach final.

it will be a difficult match i think , and juve will mostly play defensive(weird ?  ) with crosses...its up to us to qualify if we manage to score the most of the times we get infront of the goal, coz there wont be many times i guess coz juventus has good defence...anyway we have to be careful at corners and freekicks coz we take to many goals at this situations and juve is the best at corners and free kicks with tall players taking all the headers, we have short players haha  ...Anyway lets hope we will win , coz we can ! i want to see rocchi starting , he is a true finisher and we need to score at every time we have the chance...!!!!  00

One should never look past another team, espescially when that team is Juve. I am sure we will have to play our best to win, however, Juve are in the midst of a stretch of four games that include Chelsea twice, a derby and Napoli and Lazio. We need to make this game count, like the last time we played them in this situation (I believe it was 2-0 but we should have won by more as I recall). If we should allow Juve to stay in this thing, they may end up losing to Chelsea and then suddenly the Coppa would be a serious objective for them.  Forza Lazio!!!

Claudio Ranieri: Juventus Will Fight Lazio In The Coppa Italia
The 'Tinkerman' means business as he prepares for a Roman rumble against the high-flying Aquilotti...
Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri insists his side will be all fired up for the Coppa Italia first leg semi-final against Lazio tomorrow night.

The Bianconeri will be hoping to place one foot in the final of the competition when they travel to Rome on Tuesday. Ranieri is likely to make wholesale changes for the clash, with Alex Manninger likely to start in goal.

Lazio will be confident of getting a result following the 1-1 draw between both teams in Serie A back in January, but Ranieri believes his players will prevail.

"The Coppa Italia is not a boring competition and we have said this before," Ranieri told Sky Sport Italia.

"We have to fight and we will not be holding back. Fortunately I have all my players available for this match and so we will go to Rome to fight against Lazio.

"It will not be easy, nothing ever is in football. Lazio are flying at the moment and therefore this game will be more difficult than the one in Serie A.

"Our strength is our team and everyone has always contributed well, even those who have come in for injuries. Manninger will play, but I don't think Jonathan Zabina will be ready

Lazio's Pasquale Foggia: We Will Beat Juventus
The Aquilotti man has warned Juve not to expect an easy ride...
Lazio midfielder Pasquale Foggia has fired the early warning shots at Juventus ahead of their big Coppa Italia semi-final on Tuesday night.

The Bianconeri travel to the Olimpico with the aim of bringing home an aggregate advantage for the second leg in April. However, Foggia, who was superb against Bologna on Saturday, has told Juve not to expect easy pickings when they visit Rome.

"The game against Juventus will be fundamental for us and our season," Foggia told Tuttosport.

"We want to win so we can get to the final and play it at the Olimpico. Juventus are a strong team and they always make it difficult.

"Players like [Gianluigi] Buffon, [Alessandro] Del Piero and [David] Trezeguet always make the difference.

"However, we are also motivated and I think we will beat them 2-0."

The Bianconeri were in Rome back in January and they drew with Lazio 1-1 in Serie A.

The winner of the two-legged semi-final will player either Inter or Sampdoria in the final.

We have to take some sort of advantage to Turin. I heard 3 - 0 mentioned, i hope so but I think that may be optimistic. Juve are back in the title hunt, and with Inter going to Genoa next weekend Juve may close the gap on Inter even more, and with their champions league game against Chelsea still very winnable I expect to see them rest some stars 2morrow. We have a great chance to get to the final if we can keep a clean sheet. I agree that at the moment this game may not be very important to Juve, we have to capitalise on that and put the tie to bed in the first leg. I hope Carrizo gets a chance to prove himself again in goal.

This is probably the best chance we'll have to beat juve .. with inter dropping points they'll be distracted (hopefully) by the league and of course the chelsea game.. i just hope we take this chance! Forza Lazio!

I have no doubt the team will go out there and fight tooth and nail. This is probably the most important game of the season. I have a good feeling about this match. It's not even the win but how they played saturday was great to watch.

On the contrary, it's all well and good playing like this against Lecce and Bologna, but haven't we learned how fickle Lazio really are when it comes down to it? Even if it's a weakened Juve, I can't see us beating them at home... if we don't keep a clean sheet we might as well forget about it.
Before I get slated, isn't it always best to be a little pessimistic, that way at least you won't get disappointed?
It really is a huge game and I'll put my heart and soul into it, hopefully if some website is kind enough to stream it. Even though I know deep down that we really could be playing Napoli instead, and the likelihood is that we will face a trophy hungry, 'taking it seriously' Mourinho in the final, we shall see how things go tomorrow.

You make some valid points. We have been fickle in terms of our play, we have expressed our game well against the smaller sides but been dreadful against the likes of Inter and Milan at home when the time actually came to show how we really measured up. The game is being show on the TVU player network which is downloadable from http://tvuplayer.alltvsoft.com/uk/programa

It is being shown on channel 65217 (Gol tv). I recommend this TVU player as not only does this channel show Coppa Italia but spanish la liga also. Also, channel 21500 shows serie A games on sat and sunday. Forza Lazio

Im pretty scared to be optimistic for this game.  Without Zarate,it makes our offense a lot easier to prepare for I think, not necessarily a bad thing but we will need Rocchi, Pandev, and Foggia to be spot on.  I cant see us keeping a clean sheet with the offense juve can create, we will need to score goals.   Im praying we get it done, its such a critical game, but it is definitely going to be tough. Na I'm never pessimistic I always expect the players to do their best and I never think we shall get beat or even slightly hope we lose as our friend in Istanbul has said many times; always support fully support and I think that's the best way to look at our role as supporters.  I think we'll win because I always believe we'll win no matter what.
