VS

A big match this weekend that can not only improve chances in making CL but also show that we can take on the "bigger" teams. Despite juventus having a little rough start they've managed to climb to the second spot in the league while we tumbled down the standings. Lazio needs to take out a big team to put faith back into the fans. I enjoy a victory over any team .. but beating the top teams proves we have what it takes and shows this team is evolving.

If Lazio beat juve this weekend it will also close the gap a little more opening up the 2nd spot. This season has been a close race with many teams sharing the top spot at different weeks but now it seems inter will be the ones running with it considering their lead.

Last match we've seen that the Za-Pa-Ro combo worked well and we were able to carry the ball easily up the field. The midfield and defense still need some work. With foggia rested in the last match I expect him to start and play most of this upcoming match along with Kolarov. Still waiting for Matu to make his appearance having missed most of the season .. but unreliable news has always mentioned he was fit to play for the last 8 weeks.

Juventus have been on a 5 game winning streak including a win against AC Milan 4-2 and beating our latest opponents reggina 4-0. They are consistent and have been steamrolling their competition.. we need to put a stop to this at home.

Pandev and Zarate both sitting with 8 goals in the top 10 scorers and hopefully can add to their tally this weekend.

Traditionally, we have played giuve tough, hopefully, we can pull out a strong effort. I think this game is more important for us psychologically than anything else. Losing to Rubentus wouldn't be the worst defeat, but if we could defeat them, or at least tie them and play well, it would help increase our confidence and prove to the world that Lazio are a rising team (in the grand scheme of things). Hopefully, we beat them and nab all three points. I'd also like to see Matuzalem play.

This game is our latest test to see if we can at all match-up against the top 4.  I'm expecting a big performance as we traditionally play Juventus tough especially @ Home.  What better way to celebrate than with us @ Curva Nord bar next Sunday.

Anyone who is familiar with my North Curve Audioblogs and is in the GTA are welcome to be apart of the first ever North Curve Video-Blog taking place this Sunday inside Curva Nord Bar.  It will resemble a Domenica Sportiva/Giostra del Gol style right after the conclusion of the Juve-Lazio game.  Come out and Have Your Say!

In fact, until I saw Zarate and Pandev's performance against Reggina, I was not hopeful for juve match but my mind changed. If our defence line dont make any  bullshit mistake against juve, and Zarate-Pandev can play as perfect as they did in reggina match, beating juve may be real. However, I am afraid of two things. First, Amauri's performance as well as Del Piero's... they play very effecting and impressive... hard to stop them. Second, I have to say that Del Piero's freekicks are very dangerous, he uses freekick like penalty, we must not make so many fouls.

I believe that beating juventus is not impossible and this match wil show us whether we can play for 4th spot or not. Come on Lazio... beat juve..

Regardless of this result of I think we are capable of playing for fourth spot. This is a very good Juventus team we will welcome to the Olympico on Sunday night. A team that demolished AC Milan. A team that beat Real Madrid both home and away. I think generally they are underrated in Europe and could do serious damage in the Champions League as they have some very promising young players. That being said, we can win because we have quality players also, players like Pandev and Zarate that are wanted by so called bigger clubs the world over. However, we must not concede the first goal quickly like we did against Inter where the game was in effect over by half time. Del Piero is a threat from anywhere as is Amauri, and Trezeguet may play some part also as I think he and Buffon will be back from injury. However Chielini was injured for the last game and if he were not to play in Rome that would be a big miss for them. It should be a cracker though. With Juve being the most popular club in Italy they will probably bring a large contingent of fans but so will we so expect to see at least 50,000 there sunday night just like against Inter. Juve plays a lot of Jeckyl and Hyde.  Remember they were almost upset by BATE Borisov in the CL.  There def. doing an injustice to Giovinco by keeping him on the bench similar to what we do week-in-and out with Foggia.
It's gonna be an intriguing affair to see which Juve and which Lazio show up.
Should Zarate, Rocchi, and Pandev be on form I can't see us losing @ Home.  We'll def. concede goal(s) that seems to be a growing trend that the back 4 has adopted.

We have not beaten any big team this season.
I hope we get it right.
I think we will beat juve.

Juve is Lazio nightmare. The most compact team in Seria A and as lazio365 said are very underrated. I think this game will be won in the Defense and mid the only parts of Lazio that are lacking. I honestly think we will be f***ed but I pray to fight and to lose at least 0-1. If we draw it will be more than great.

Till then Forza Lazio and of course Lotito and Rossi Vattene

Well when you play a big team it's not same as when u play a little one so all I hope is our players to be in good condition, in right mood, and Rossi tactics will worth and I'm very sure we can beat them. I never forget the Victory Lazio 1-0 Juve ( I don't remember the year ) Liverani scored from 30-40m a beautiful goal! So last year we lost 3-2 in Olimpico, so now the time is to win and to tell everyone that we are not useless team!

I think Juve's winning streak has to come to an end and why not at the hands of Lazio ? I think if we can pull together and be motivated for this game we can take them out and with style. I think Zarate is due for some goals this game. Still no news on Matu .. this guy won flop of the year taking the trophy from Meghni from last year.

To be honest I don't think anyone underates juve i think people should be worried about underating us... it's time we started winnig against the teams above us or we'll not have an impact on the league for yet another season... i hope we step up to the mark

Only in Europe (i.e. CL) is Juve underated because they haven't heard of them since the whole scandal and last year they were rather pedestrian. But in the Serie A, I don't think anyone underrates them unless they are completely blind. Juve is a tough team to play, we will have to play our best game (i.e. like against Fiorentina) but I believe that the best Lazio can beat the best Juve - it's a matter of consistency. I am really hoping to see Matu play at least a bit - man this waiting in killing me.  Forza Lazio!!!

My lineup for the match:

           --Carizzo--

--DeSil -- Diakite -- Rozehnal --Radu

      Ledesma

   --Lich - Meghni --Foggia

  Zarate   -- Pandev -- Rocchi

Hopefully Matu plays .. in that case i'll stick him in for ledesma. Kolarov, Brocchi and Dabo would be my other choice players or subs.
