I think this year is crunch time for Delio and as stated below he feels he owes the fans. Last season I think we had some discussion about who was going to replace him and we had a list of coaches to step in his place. On goal.com they did a list on the coaches and they're chances of getting sacked out of 10, heres delios rating:

Delio Rossi (Lazio) – Many believed Rossi would lose his job following a disastrous 2007/08 season but he has stayed on. After some notable signings the pressure is on – 8/10

He recieved one of the highest rating to most likely get sacked. It all remains to be seen now with the new players and a clean slate at the new season.

Delio Rossi: Actions, Not Words
Lazio coach Delio Rossi is in no two minds regarding his club's objective this coming season: qualification for Europe...

Last season was not a successful one for the team from the capital, with many believing that they did not reach their full potential, finishing bottom of their Champions League group, crashing out of Europe and failing to qualify for Europe after a poor league finish.

At the presentation of the new Lazio shirt for the season ahead, a down to earth Delio Rossi said that he knew what needed to be done to reach their objectives. “Our aim will be to let our actions on the field do the talking, with very little space given to words off the pitch,” said the coach.

Rossi feels indebted to the biancoceleste fans, and wants to do well as a tribute to them.

“The fans are always splendid, to come here in such sweltering heat is a sign of the great love they have for this club,” said Rossi, before adding: "Our objective is to return to playing in Europe.”

It seems th widely heald belief is that this is his last chance and that if he doesn't show improvement with the improvements made to the team, he may not last the season. I am comfortable with that, and frankly, much as I respect him, wouldn't give him past the andata to show signs of improvement.

Yeah if we struggle out of the gate with this new-look team, I don't think there is anyone else to blame, he will have to go.

Cant say he doesn't have the necessary tools this time .. lets just hope we dont have another injury crisis like last season.
