Cribari Wants To Commit To Lazio
Lazio defender Sanchez Cribari is hoping to pledge his long-term future to the club, and wants to sign a new contract and eventually become captain.

The Brazilian has developed into a key member of the team since joining the Biancocelesti from Udinese in 2005.

The 28-year-old did not have the best of seasons last campaign though, with the backline conceding a whopping 51 goals in Serie A.

However Cribari is ready to pledge his future to the club, and is hoping to sign a new contract.

“I spoke to Delio Rossi before I went to Brazil and I told him that I would commit to Lazio without asking the moon or a guaranteed starting place,” he told Radio Radio TV.

“I really identify with this team and the shirt and I love being in Rome. I told the President that I would be happy to sign a renewal at once.

“I’m not looking for more money, that doesn’t come into it. My main objective is just to stay and eventually become captain.”

Cribari made 31 Serie A appearances last season.

I dont think he'll ever be captain. I hope he can turnaround this season because last season he was pretty awful. This guy went from one of my favorite players to a player I would have no problem seeing for sale.

Cribari aims for armband
Friday 11 July, 2008
Lazio’s Brazilian defender Emilson Cribari is hoping to sign a contract renewal at the Stadio Olimpico within the next few weeks.

The gutsy former Empoli man has been with the Biancocelesti since the summer of 2005 and has become a fixture at the heart of the defence.

And Cribari has made it clear that he has no intention of going in search of a new challenge.

It's good to hear his respect and desire to play for Lazio...I think there is still a spot for him on this team whether it be in a starting role or not.

What do you mean? I know he didn't have the greatest season, but he started off by having his head bashed in and he came back in two weeks. I think he's fairly useful. boh?

He is to slow. We must change him and Sivila. New quality defenders is what we need now.

I was hoping to get Moti to complete our defense.

DeSilvestri -  Moti(Rozehnal) -  Radu -  Kolarov

This would be a nice young, fast and solid defense. I guess we're holding on to Siviglia until his contract expires .. he's 35 year old but would be good as a sub along with Cribari, unless Criba can prove to be back to his old form.

Carrizzo could make a good captain, Rossi says he has carisma, maybe in a couple of years otherwise Rocchi as he has been here a while and has spoken for the team on a number of occassions.

I think we might discover a new captain this year but I think we should start off with Rocchi as our captain.

Rocchi will surely be the captain, but while he is away at the olynpics we need a stand in captain.
I think that will fall to dabo or pandev.................but we may all be shocked to see siviglia taking that.

I think Pandev would be the best candidate because he's a player who should always be on. I don't want to see Siviglia in for a full game since now we have other defenders I'd much rather see in his place. Dabo on the other hand might be a good idea, he's proven to be useful no the field since last January. I'd even say ledesma but after the contract conflict and him possibly using article 17,  I dont favor him too much anymore. I favor players who WANT to stay at Lazio AND are starters.
