His agent said he was close to leaving in the summer because he wants to play with the big club. Lazio says the reason for not starting him is that they feel he lacks the maturity and his role is already well covered at the moment. boh?

This was the most over-hyped purchase I think we've ever seen. When Lazio was doing horrible last year  I remember reading posts about counting the days when this kid could finally play as if he was going to turn things around .. and once we got him he was never even featured in a single game.

Then again 60% of the players we sign that we've never heard of are usually over-hyped. Sometimes I think lotito starts these rumours to cover the fact that he bought a complete nobody.

How can you say that when we haven't even seen him?

I don't know how many times I have to repeat myself - whether he sucks for Primavera is not an issue. The ONLY way to see if the kid makes the grade is to send him to a Serie B club on loan, or, preferrably, give him some minutes. What benefit was served by giving Makinwa and Cruz minutes last season. So if it doesn't work out, what's the fucking problem? You don't have to touch the guy again with a bargepole. It's absolutely pathetic that we have a talent on board and we haven't seen him play yet. Pathetic. If he leaves and becomes something then it's yet another case of this club fucking up with young talent.

^^ you're right of course, but this isn't a Lazio problem, it's a Serie A/Italian mentality problem. Just look at Giovinco et al. Italian teams don't give young players a chance as readily as the EPL -unfortunately.

Yes exactly. Although there are some instances occasionally, Boubacar, Destro, Pato, Giovinco (now) and teams like Bari, it isn't frequent enough, and it feels that SSL stink particularly at this. Of course we can all remember times  when Primavera kids just come and go without wiping their feet on the doormat and then your useless Inzaghi's and such get brought on instead. For all the talk that Tuia is the new Nesta, it would have been good to see him in a pointless league game rather then Siviglia. Attitudes must absolutely change, but they won't. If dinosaurs are in charge of the league then dinosaurs we shall follow.

It's a stupid system, a few days ago I read an interview with some former Italian player who was talking about this. Why no Italian club has the same set up as Ajax or Barcelona. Instead of buying for example Baretto for 3 million euros and get useless high taking salary guys like Cruz, this money could be used for development. We see it work everywhere, Germany, Barcelona, The Netherlands. Lazio should get the ball rolling and be the first Italian team to do this.
