I wouldnt go choosing between any of them, balla was wrong criticing zarate about his play, and zarate was wrong beeing so harsh and making overstatements, but the whole situation is really so rediculous, as Latius said it has really turned into a soap opera and the only thing that i am concerned about is our reputation which is beeing ruined by those sh.theads

When Ballardini comes out and criticises himself for having a dreadful season, and criticises himself for his constant mish mash of tactics, for getting beaten at home by the likes of Salzberg, for making an ass of himself infront of the press, for turning our season into a battle for 'salvation', for relying on the 'fantastic' Baronio who conqured Italian football with the likes of Vicenza, Brescia, Perugia and Chievo, then I might have more respect for him.

Lazio has turned from a football club into a soap opera/drama. Yes Zarate has to fix his attitude but I agree with whoever said this should be discussed behind closed doors. Ballamerda and Lototti have stooped even lower than Maurito by bringing this business to the public and continuing to participate in it. They need to learn to keep their mouths shut when it counts .. not just when they ruin this clubs reputation by taking it to an all time low. Zarate or Ballamerda ?? that's an easy one ... zarate .. he's contributed something to the club despite his attitude .. who the f**K is ballardini ???
i agree its getting stupid from both sides plus with it beening in the media it not helping bring in new players in the mercato??

Yesterday before the game Ballardini suggested to forget the Zarate controversy and something along the lines of Maurito being a willing and hard working player and an asset to the team. Let us hope it ends there.

I believe zarate is tired at Lazio and he'll leave either this transfer market or in the summer. Right now the team just doesn't look like it will compete anytime soon in the top 10 unless money is heavily invested. This team needs to rebuild itself and 40 million looks like an offer that can't be turned down if it really is true.
Any young player in their right mind that has potential won't stay with this club right now, i don't blame them for wanting to go. To play alongside some of the players on this team is almost degrading.
I just hope that if we do manage to sell him for that money that it gets invested back into new talent.

Zarate link with Gunners Lazio forward Mauro Zarate has been targeted by Arsenal, according to his agent.
Manchester City also tried to sign the former Birmingham city ace but now Jose Alberti believes that the Argentinian striker will be returning to England with the Gunners.
“I am in contact with Arsenal,” said Alberti. “A couple of days ago a leader of the English club asked me about him.
“Arsenal wants to increase their attacking options and so already they are preparing an offer of €40 million which they will deliver to Lazio president Claudio Lotito.
“Their intention is to succeed where Manchester City failed in the past year - that is to take Zarate back to the Premier League.
“Maybe this time they will succeed and from what I know Mauro is tired of the situation at Lazio.”

Shouldnt he be standing out then as a great player if hes around so many inferior players? Dont think this has been the case this season, obviously. 40 mil is a lot though, wow. If I were him I would want to stay on a smaller team to develop more and stick out as a star rather than get lost in a larger pool of talent on a bigger club.

Zarate Kid Ain't Worth 40 Million, if they Arsenal are STUPID enough to pay that much, Lotito take the money, "AS THE SAYING GOES, SHOW ME THE MONEY". He's attitude and behavior is way appalling for lazio to keep him, he lacks in manners. He gives such a bad image of Lazio across the World.

Until he learns how to pass the ball no crazy offers will come on our adress. Mark my words. It was time of `80s when the football was one man show. Now,the team players are at price. Nobody wants to spend millions for a player who is gonna waste everything the team created. Even though I personally still have a faith of the kid,the truth is he is one of the reasons for our shitty form. I don`t really know the statistics but he spends on average about 10 undangerous shouts every game+15 potential chances when instead of passing he decides driblling. Also he looks pretty nervous on the field spreading the negativity to all of his teammates. Without teamwork mentality he will destroy his next club both teameffortlly and financially. Also, what other position he can play?

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has denied reports that Arsenal are tracking striker Mauro Zarate.
The Argentine striker's future with the club has been questioned over the last week, as the player's agent and brother said that the Biancocelesti would have to choose between Zarate and coach Davide Ballardini. There have also been suggestions that the Gunners were preparing a €40 million bid for the player.
However, the Lazio official has categorically denied that the former Velez Sarsfield hitman will leave during the winter transfer window.
"There is nothing happening with Zarate," he told Il Corriere dello Sport on Tuesday.
"It's just a rumour. There is no truth to it. Lazio rely on Zarate because he is a great champion."
Zarate has often appeared frustrated for the club this season, failing to replicate the successful campaign he had in 2008-09. The Argentine has only managed two goals in 17 appearances.
End of debate! Until the summer at least.

All i can say is this club is falling apart. The only solution i can think of is selling the club to someone who can run it.
------------------------------------
Zarate wants to leave Lazio Thursday 14 January, 2010 Lazio striker Mauro Zarate is looking to return to the Premier League, according to his British representative Barry McIntosh.
The 22-year-old has fallen out with Lazio Coach Davide Ballardini after he questioned the Argentinian's attitude last week.
Ballardini has tried to heal the wounds between the pair today, telling the Italian Press how Zarate can become Lazio's symbol.
However, McIntosh reveals there is a great deal of interest in his client who made a name for himself with Birmingham City in 2008.
Speaking to skysports.com, McIntosh said: “Mauro thoroughly enjoyed his time at Birmingham and he loves the Premier League.
“We know the interest in him is big, I cannot say who, but there are some big clubs who would like Mauro.”
Zarate has been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, although it would take a big offer to dislodge him from Lazio.
The Biancocelesti paid Al-Saad €20m for him in the summer and Claudio Lotito is unlikely to want to deprive Ballardini of anymore strikers after he lost a legal case that allowed Goran Pandev to leave on a free transfer.
Lazio have endured a torrid time in Serie A this season and currently lie 15th in the table at the half way point of the campaign.
