Zarate needs a decent coach to help him develop and he hasn't really had one until now. So let's hope he gets the support he needs. As for being a little beeatch, well he's young, Argentinian and a striker - what did you expect. The kid needs maturity. Remember when Tare slapped him out last year and everyone was criticizing Tare for it? I thought he should have hit him harder. Zarate will probably regain his form and will become a great player - but he needs structure. the whole team has suffered because of a lack of structure IMO, so what do we expect?

Nonsense. That's a cop-out. A young(er) Messi did not have that problem, nor did Tevez, Higuain, Saviola, Lopez... and maybe others I could name but I in truth don't know as much about them. And as for 'needs a good coach' I'm not sure about that either. Shouldn't a player be good enough (Di Natale comes to mind) to perform regardless of who is standing on the touchline? I've already stated what I think a World class player should be elsewhere... one of those points should be that, said player should be able to drag the team out of the mud with a moment of genius, or something to that effect. Like Foggia, if Zarate doesn't get into the game, he sulks, and then ends up trying too hard. It's not like I dislike Zarate with a passion, but to blame Ballardini or whoever for Zarate I don't agree with - sure he needs a scolding but he's not sucking his mom's tit for milk anymore, he should be able to use his cabbage for brains to sort himself out. If Zarate needs a good coach to perform, then does that also apply to shit players? Not even Prandelli could sort out Makinwa ffs.

I think the biggest issue with zarate is that he needs to be given the correct role and not a goal box striker position where his size is of a disadvantage like a robinho who has struggled and now at Sao Poalo. Also mindset besides just sulking he has to waste less, everytime the ball flies into the stands its another chance gone from another player that could have made better use of the play. He has to lock into a playmaking role and help those around him. Goals are not everything.

Ok fine. Hypothetically: With our team from before (without reja, ledesma, floccari, and with ballardini coaching) and Messi on our team instead of Zarate, we would still have gone into serie b. What the frig is Zarate supposed to do when he has to rely on Baronio, Mauri and Firmani to give him the ball. Its stupid. Its like playing without a midfield. The only way the ball got up to the strikers was if Zarate went all the way back and got the ball himself. O ya then he had play alongside Julio Cruz. If I played on a team full of losers I wouldn't pass the ball either. Thank God Reja came and Ledesma started to play. Like I said, Messi would not have saved that team from going in serie b. Jesus could not even save a team like that! Put Zarate on a team with speed like Arsenal and you will see the damage he does. Frig, before it was like watching a cheetah trying to play on the same team as a turtle.

And that's all well and correct, except... our midfield last year was what exactly... Dabo, Mauri, Brocchi and a sub-standard Ledesma? And actually, a lot of pissing Meghni as well! Dunno what you think but it wasen't very good at all was it. Hence why we had a shit season (aside from one very obvious triumph) and Zarate was largely responsible for the success we had. But that was when we had Pandev and Rocchi to take the pressure off Zarate, and he was only with us on loan, and Serie A didn't know him, so there was no expectations of Mauro then.
But then I remember Zarate spitting his dummy out numerous times when he got taken off last season too. And I also remember his goalless streak as well.

If I played on a team full of losers I wouldn't pass the ball either. Partly True, but then again you look at many low ranking teams that have shit yet they all have a striker with 6-7 goals double any of ours. Di Vaio seems to break through, Di Natale is world class on a sub par Udinese. I don't care if Zarate takes every shot in the game but hit the fucking net force the keeper to make a save

Seeing ledesma, foggia, and brocchi on the field is 100 times better than seeing baronio, firmani, mauri. A sub-standard ledesma beats baronio any day. And pandev was a huge difference. He took so much pressure away from zarate. And its already obvious that zarate is playing better with floccari beside him. And P.S I never want to here any comparisons of attitude between zarate and cassano after cassano just said that lippi needs to take some pills and that hed rather beat him up than sing him a song.

I'm not an Azzurri fan but whenever I see that he prefers 'workers' i.e Pepe rather then 'talent' i.e Cassano he needs more then pills. He needs serious counselling.
Zaza... your trying to defend your man but your running out of things to say. So you openly admit that Zarate needs someone great next to him for Zarate to be at his best? Screw that. If a player is good enough he should be able to play with anyone. Stick David Villa next to Simeone Inzaghi - who would get the goal?
